US vaccine consensus has officially shattered. Last week, the American Academy of Pediatrics said that the group would continue to recommend Covid vaccines for kids under the age of 2 — openly defying Kennedy’s move this May to end the recommendation for both healthy children and pregnant people. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology followed suit. A group of New England states is meeting this week to discuss whether to issue its own vaccine guidance.

Even as scientists develop exciting new applications of the same mRNA technology that helped successfully produce the Covid vaccines as part of Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” during the pandemic, Kennedy is canceling mRNA contracts with drug developers. The loss of federal funding for the platform could possibly close off future treatments before they can even be developed.

As a result of all this, more people could get sick. Drug manufacturers may produce fewer doses of their existing vaccines. Insurers may not be willing to cover people’s shots if they are not being recommended by the government. Various nightmare scenarios could emerge

A Social Security whistleblower says hundreds of millions of Americans are at risk after their personal data was recklessly uploaded to a vulnerable cloud server, which one of the most notorious DOGE operatives, “Big Balls,” could access.

Charles Borges, the Social Security Administration’s chief data officer, said DOGE members uploaded a database containing records of all Social Security numbers issued by the federal government, full names, addresses, birth dates and other details that could be used to steal their identities, according to the complaint obtained by the New York Times.

The move “potentially violated multiple federal statutes” protecting sensitive government data, Borges wrote, and could result in a “catastrophic impact” for Social Security beneficiaries and programs if compromised.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is doing more than just mocking President Trump's signature social media style: It seems he's now borrowing the president's brand — and hawking familiar headwear.

Newsom and his team have made trolling Trump a deliberate part of their communications strategy, turning the president's often brash style against him.

That's been evident on his social media pages, which feature several all-caps messages signed with GCN (a riff on DJT's signature).

California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office posted an image on X, comparing Los Angeles' and Dallas' murder rates based on FBI crime data.

"Dallas' murder rate is nearly 2x higher than Los Angeles'," the post read. "Don't expect Fox News to report that."

The FBI data lists LA's murder rate as 6.95 per 100,000 residents and Dallas' at 13.62. Newsom's posts also took aim at Houston, comparing San Francisco's 35 murders in 2024 to the Texas city's 322.

Texas wasn't alone in drawing criticism from Newsom. The account also posted crime comparisons to cities like Memphis, St. Louis and Tampa, and Republican-run states like Arkansas and Louisiana.
