"Haha I'm pointing my gun at you" is exactly the kind of garbage-tier humor that only a moron in law enforcement could appreciate.

I highly recommend listening to these two talking about photography and stuff in general. I'm not a big podcast person but there's something special about this one, IMO.

Nonsense article. What indication is there that Paxton is or will be in any trouble?

"Big trouble" ๐Ÿ™„, like give me a break. He's a Republican asshole in a red state, he's not in any real trouble for doing this.

I basically treat truck drivers the way I treat cops at this point. Keep a safe distance and treat them like really stupid but dangerous and highly aggressive animals. Not surprising at all that most cops drive trucks.

I imagine this person knows this and like many soldiers is just trying to enjoy a brief moment of fun.

Edit: also the casual sexualization of her in this thread is disappointing but I've been on Lemmy long enough to not be surprised. Sad that casual sexism prevails even in leftist spaces.

Before Signal made the boneheaded move of removing SMS support, it was so much easier for me to pitch the idea of using Signal to my friends and family, most of which eventually did make the shift from SMS to Signal messages for reasons like ease of use when it came to group chats, sending images/videos, voice clips, etc.

But now? Now it's one of those embarrassing moments where I hear back from people basically all saying "your tech recommendations are usually on point but uh, what happened with Signal???" because the app just abruptly stopped supporting SMS and ruined the seamless appeal. SMS support was the perfect way to ease people into shifting towards Signal messages and now the only damn people I know who still know Signal are my most privacy-minded friends/family, while everyone else has switched back to WhatsApp.

Clearly I'm not bitter...๐Ÿ˜… But I mean like, come on. I had the most notorious luddites in my social circle make the switch to Signal and they loved it. The shift from SMS to Signal messages was so smooth so many of them didn't even have that "I miss [SMS stuff]", plus they LOVED that Signal could be used on their laptops in addition to their phones. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this annoys me so much.

I've always seen people referencing just a single photo or video of Trump with Epstein & Co., so I felt it was necessary to create this compilation to show that Trump's relationship with these people extended far beyond being mere acquaintances.

If you have any feedback, I'm all ears. My channel isn't monetized so I just make whatever I feel like and it's nice not having money in the equation. No monetization means I can do little weird things like creating this video in the style of Goodfellas, just to show people that at the end of the day, the only difference between Trump and a two-bit gangster is that he inherited billions of dollars. Apart from that, he still has and continues to conduct himself like a boorish fool.

The reason why he hasn't sued her for libel is because he knows her lawyers would mop the floor with him with the disclosure.

My keyboard uses PS/2 and although I do have a PS/2 to USB adapter, i prefer using my computers PS/2 port because it means one more USB port can be used for something else.

30+ years old and it runs flawlessly.

} "For one, you could only claim this settlement if you lived in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, or Washington."

What a joke. Wherever the product was sold is what this should cover. Just another example of a broken ass system trying to push itself as legitimate and for the people.

He'll be dead by then. His father lived to 95 or something but Trump proudly admits he doesn't exercise and he eats like shit. The best healthcare in the world can only keep a guy like that alive for so long before a lifetime of bad habits catch up to him.

Fun fact: Trump once claimed the human body is akin to a battery, and that exercising only decreases our lifespan. I wish I was joking.

In a study released today, the National Academy of Sciences reports that at least 4.1 percent of defendants sentenced to death in the United States are innocent.

So basically 1 in 20 inmates on death row are innocent, and people (mostly conservatives) are A-OK with that percentage of innocent people being subject to state-sanctioned murder in a very brutal way that's far from painless. A dog being put down by a vet receives more humane treatment than a human being put down by the state.

Qualified immunity for police officers. Prosecutors and judges basically get qualified immunity, too-- in that they can be caught engaging in all sorts of inappropriate and illegal activity without facing punishment because like police, it usually doesn't even get to the extent of being charged.

The City of Minneapolis has agreed to pay $1.5 million to Jaleel Stallings, a St. Paul veteran who sued the city after being acquitted of eight felony charges when he shot in self-defense at Minneapolis police officers during the George Floyd protests.

Stallings was acquitted by a jury last summer for the charges after evidence presented directly contradicted accounts provided by police and laid out by prosecutors. Stallings, who was protesting the death of George Floyd on May 30, 2020, said he didn't know the people firing plastic bullets at him from an unmarked cargo van were police, so he fired back.

Once Stalling realized it was police, he laid his weapon down and laid down on the ground. Surveillance video and bodycam footage shows SWAT officers kick, punch and knee Stallings repeatedly in the face and head after he had already surrendered. Officers initially claimed that he had resisted arrest, with a news release describing it as a "struggle."

Stallings suffered a fracture near his eye, as well as cuts and bruises.

The SWAT team involved with Stallings were driving in an unmarked cargo van, firing 40-mm marking rounds at civilians out after curfew. Body camera footage showed officers talking about "hunting" protesters. That's when they eventually beat Stallings and another person he was with after Stallings fired his weapon back at them. He previously stated that he "purposely" missed them.

No Minneapolis Police Department officer has been formally disciplined for their actions during the May 2020 riots as of this day, though one female officer was disciplined for speaking to a reporter anonymously.
