Nice, now if only they'd let us buy their cars here.

I so want a practical electric vehicle, and this comes close, but still falls short on the mileage, at least for people like me.

I'd say if'n they haven't fully repaid their debt to society, ie fines, etc, but they should be able to do that without Florida's type of BS. That and the double standard needs to go.

We were already leaning towards replacing it with WalMart+ before this announcement. It used to be worth it when it was cheaper and got you next day delivery, but those are gone. We have little use for it's various features, so we figure give W+ a try for a year, it's cheaper, and seems to cover our needs, though there's a good chance that'll be a one and done thing, since I don't think we'll find it worth it, but I don't see us going back to Prime.

I was surprised to see how right you are, at least in the more commercial side like the Transit Connect. Out here in STL you can't swing a dead cat without hitting 10 of them, and yet Ford only sold about 25K this year... Did STL buy them all? That said, I do think that skipping an entire market segment is not helping things, especially a very visible market, contractors. Whether they need a van or a pickup, large or small, there's a ton of contractors out there, people interact with them every day, and yet there's been no attempt to make a vehicle for them. The Brightdrop you mentioned is a step van, far larger than most contractors need, that's a fleet type vehicle. Ford Lightning is pricey, and it seems like GM is trying to top that with the upcoming Silverado EV, and as to vans, there's zero, VW is bringing one here, but they won't be bringing the cargo version in.

Why, why are they under any obligation to be accurate? I"ve used them since you had to print out the directions, they've told me to make illegal turns, go the wrong way down one way streets, use a road with a bridge out, use roads that don't exist and more, and while annoying, I just rolled with it, because they never promised me anything more than that the directions were prolly accurate.

This is what I was thinking, suing Google sounds like a cash grab as there's government agencies and possibly private land owners responsible for putting up barriers and signs warning the bridge is out. Google maps is useful, but you still have to use some sense rather than blindly following it, heck, I've run into cases where it can't figure out how to get to a street (that actually happened yesterday).

You want to move electric vehicles, cover segments that need them. While for me the perfect vehicle would be an electric Mazda5 (microvan), something around a Transit Connect would sell like hot cakes at the right price to commercial customers, just look at home many of those are running around as service vehicles And how many electric minivans could you sell? I see a lot of people saying we need inexpensive electric cars, which is true, but there are whole segments getting ignored, not just what I mentioned, but what about full sized vans? Sure, Ford offers one... With a 127 mile range, which might work in some industries, but there's a lot of potential customers where that's just an automatic fail.

You're welcome. I do recommend looking up Sunset's Isekai, it crosses over with a lot of things, it's Stargate crossover being one of my favorites, it ends with the SG1 team using an Equestrian portal to escape back to Equestria, which turns them into ponies. O'Neill winds up being a pegasus, and when told they'll be changed back to human before they take the Stargate back to Earth, he looks at his wings, and asks the Princesses one question... 'Do these things work?' Some how I can easily see him doing that. T

That said, there's been a fair number of MLP stories that I've discovered because of it.

As to the MLP lore, they do good with it, but there are some surprises, but you might've guessed one of them already, which explains the rest.

Yeah, I can believe that, it's as rife for corruption and the other problems as any other system. Honestly I don't know if there is a way to do fair voting maps, at least one that can't get hijacked by zealots.

Dunno, but I wouldn't be surprised.

This has been up for around 5 hours, and for some reason no one wants it

Hopefully this is allowed here, after all there are plenty of online stories about the horrors of taking trips in an electric car.

My husband, @lirleni@wandering.shop went to a convention in Olive Branch, MS in his Leaf from our house in Hazelwood, MO, a distance of 321 miles, not huge as far as trips go obviously.

So, how'd it go? Mostly good, though he ended it stupidly, and I have no idea what he's going to do, though I've given him some suggestions, and that is he didn't worry about getting to the hotel on a good charge, he figured he'd run down the road and charge the car after check in at the hotel. Unfortunately the charger he chose, prolly the nearest fast charger, is down, and there are no other chargers in that area so he returned to the hotel with 5%/10 miles of range. Yeah, he should've topped off along the way to insure he still had a decent amount of range at the end.

Outside of that, there's not much to report, he stopped in Perryville for his first charge, 91 miles out, then in Hayti another 111 miles away with no problems. Another plus of sorts was road construction which kept him under highway speeds for a large chunk of the trip as did an accident, plus weather mild enough that he didn't need to use the AC, had he needed it, there would've definitely needed to be more stops, and I'm not sure the trip would've been doable, at least not same day as fast chargers are sparse in southern MO and Memphis area.

Considering that he's driving a Leaf, the trip went well, so anyone that tells you that electric cars can't take trips, point them to this.

Hopefully this happens
