What a depressing story

Yea sadly the kid was an aggressor here

But the cops should be using tazers or something non-lethal to deal with this kinda altercation

This is great but surprising news. Hopefully the implementation is actually good

Seems like a great idea. I'll definitely purchase if it I like it

I've been going to the gym for a few months, still feel like a noob tho.

I track what exercises I do, weight & reps, etc, and try to rotate between the different exercises I enjoy.

However I don't do leg-centric days or anything like that, I just try and do a variety each week and not go too long without exercising specific areas. Is that bad?

Why does Molly tend to always run as a background service when Signal didn't? Doesn't seem to use much more battery so I guess it's no biggy, just curious

Not necessarily how they're viewing it.

Once if was free, now it's $150,000+ with the possibility of that increasing anytime

Signal seems like an obvious choice over Telegram if privacy is the exclusive priority.

I do love Telegram tho for the ability to send full-quality photos/videos, log-on with 2+ phones simultaneously, visual customization, etc

Left Samsung due to poor battery to Pixel, which was an upgrade but the Fold is a big step ahead again.

Will post Pixel 7 Pro in comments for context

The cable is the weakest link of Earbuds for durability.

IEM's with replaceable cables are readily available and getting very cheap & good these days (e.g. Moondrop Chu 2, Truthear Hola, etc)

I have one Android and one iPhone for fun and like to switch back and forth.

Due to this I largely prefer Telegram as Signal can't be simultaneously logged in on both. Is this feature likely in the works or is there something that inherently makes it difficult/impossible?

Testing a Samsung phone after using a Pixel. When charging overnight, the Pixel charges to 80%, then pauses until soon before I have my alarm set.

Does Samsung have a feature like this? I don't see it

Bought on Amazon for about 800 less than MSRP, not sure why it was that "cheap" (still expensive) but I decided to give it a shot

Pros:

  • I've always been a huge tablet lover, so having one in my pocket for when I'm on the bus or at work is amazing

  • Everyone knows it's great for selfies, but an advantage I see mentioned less often is how great it is for doing Makeup! Being able to zoom in 3x on my eyes and have it remain clear is amazing for putting on eye liner, I'd argue even better than a mirror

  • Multitasking is excellent and intuitive

  • The front screen's skinniness is better once you get used to it, altho if you're a big-phone person you simply may not like it

Cons:

  • Camera system is behind other modern flagships

  • Screen-anxiety is definitely a thing I worry about. Feels great so far but I've heard enough negative stories to be nervous

That's about it, with no worries about durability and a better camera it'd be about perfect

Are you saying you want it to charge with USB C, or it just has to have a USB C port?

Almost every laptop released recently has a USB C port so if that's all it needs, you have tons of options

Many budget ones don't charge with USB C tho

A minor bug but, often when I scroll vertically, I somehow end up registering a horizontal swipe on posts leading to a Downvote or Save.

Anyone else get this? I'm on a Pixel

Probably just the vibe that a non-actor gives off when making scripted YT content

Total noob, but I set up TrueNAS/Nextcloud on an old laptop and it's working great locally.

What would be the easiest secure way to access my files remotely from my phone and/or laptop?

Will be curious to hear Linus’ response, the Billet labs thing is super weird

Well there are 3 alternatives.

Ads, which everyone on here would endorse blocking, so that’s out.

All journalism becomes volunteer work, running off of optional donations, which seems unlikely :D

Or all journalism becomes publicly funded via-taxes. This is probably the optimal option but I think most people would agree that ALL journalism being government funded has a ton of risks.

12

Is this an option that exists or could be added in the future?

30% off would make the pricing feel less steep

Not sure why anyone wanted a second twitter that’s still made by a big-tech
