As the contradictions of capitalism sharpen, the highest paying jobs become increasingly detached from productive forces.
Look at the salaries of tech workers for example. Technically the proletariat but are increasingly shunted into jobs like advertising, market research, middle management etc.
Meanwhile the industrial sector is evaporating and more and more people are being funneled into low paying service industry jobs to be literal wage slaves for the steadily shrinking segment of the population employed in "good paying jobs" despite those service sector jobs providing all the comforts that those in higher paying jobs rely upon.
They are not safe in the long run. Nor should they be. Most of the worst crimes of imperialism have been committed in the name of securing stable investment opportunities.
