All I can do is apologise, I really tried, so I'm going to chalk it up to a me problem. Desperate for a good Sci fi series as well, that's the most annoying part!
I think this might be a truly unpopular opinion, but I could not get into the expanse at all. Just never got invested in the characters enough to stick with it. I've retried watching it 4 times due to everyone recommending it, kind of given up now!
Also the latest star wars films killed any interest I had in star wars.
We do need action on all levels of society, and we need to be treating this as a crisis.
On a local level (in the UK) there are a lot more community and Council groups being setup to try and find solutions I would absolutely recommend attending those.
Other than that, ensure your pension is invested in green and eco investments and try to fly less (maybe even drive less).
Weirdly I'm subbed to 162, so almost exactly the same. Not sure of the kbin/lemmy breakdown.
Most of the communities are still really small or inactive but I'm subbed in the hope they develop in the next few weeks or so.

I feel like everyone really t needs to pull together and try and build all these communities to get this whole place rolling. Thriving more niche communities are vital to that.
