I don't have communist friends in the Philippines, so I don't have the insights that you got, most of what I know about them is from the documentaries "Inside the New People's Army" and "Revolution Selfie", which might present a idealised view of their revolution. But I know that their split with PKP was rather dirty, and the bombing Plaza Miranda was a terrible accelerationist move.

Other than their support to the rural population, I appreciate their effort to try to preserve the environment from companies known to disregard it by sabotaging their operations, and also their support for LGBT rights.

I'm open to hearing more about the criticism Filipino communists have towards them.

For the USSR, it was a response to the missiles in Turkey. But Cuba wanted those missiles there also as a deterrence to not have a repeat of the bay of pigs invasion.

In that case it was both.

Better outcome is when everyone is homeless and dies from preventable diseases due to unaccessible healthcare, BUT they have a choice of 50 different shampoos.

And the horror is when everyone has a roof, is educated, in good health, but has to munch on the disgusting government provided nutritious food. 😡

Who do you think you are to decide what God wants or doesn't want?

He's making fun of all the libs/fascists who want to kill all the Ukrainians in the hope of owning Putin, while sitting comfortably on their gamer chairs in their mom's basement.

Yes, when there was insurection in France and the Paris Commune was created, the government sent the army and killed everyone.

It was a bad thing when France did it, and it was also a bad thing when Ukraine did it. Monarchists and fascists are just equally disgusting.

Kim Il Sung was a war hero who liberated the Korean peninsula from the Japanese, and almost liberated it from the USA. You're incredibly ungrateful because it's thanks to him that you're allowed to speak Korean today.

I'll call my sawblade a hand-held barbed wire then. That sounds fancy.

I just watched this documentary by a Korean American where you can find some information about it in the context of Korea. He interviews a South Korean lawyer who specializes in the legal defense on North Koreans, as well as a couple North Korean now living in the south.

You can also watch this video that talks more widely about the red scare and military actions against socialist countries. There are sources in the video description if you are interested.
