What is the point of digging up strategies and ideologies which have been proven by history to be failures?

They weren't failures for capitalists, Kautsky and his ilk did a great deal of harm to socialist movement. I guess that answers the question of what the point. Qui bono and all that.

That's an obsolete definition, now its also used by libs to refer to anyone left of them they don't like.

DDR was created as a response to western allies uniting their three zones in violation of Yalta and Potsdam treaties.

I think we should lessen the number of cars by 90%

Would be funny if Iran didn't seek to wrap up fighting with Israel.

Not even on DPRK. In case of dealing with USA peace is the question and nuclear bomb is the answer.

one of the comments picked my interest:

Iran was ready to sign a nuclear deal with Trump. Just two weeks ago, Iran’s lead negotiator, Ali Shamkhani, who was assassinated by Israel, said that Tehran was ready to commit to never having nuclear weapons, getting rid of its stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, which can be weaponized, agree to only enrich uranium to the lower levels needed for civilian use and allow international inspectors to supervise the process. This was in exchange for lifting all economic sanctions — NBC news

Is that even true? If so, it is monstrous stupidity bordering on treason. Especially Iran should know best that any nuclear deal with US is worth absolutely nothing and is only preparing ground for an agression. Which happened anyway, for as long as they don't have nukes of their own, they are easy target for warmongers. Especially the last line is absurd. Even if US just this once kept the promise it's still getting rid of years of development in exchange for a piece of paper that can be reinstated at any time for no inconvenience for USA.

They spent a lot of that on Yemen though.

I just read an interesting letter from Marx to Engels, particularly this fragment was notable

Climate and the Vegetable World throughout the Ages, a History of Both, by Fraas (1847) is very interesting, especially as proving that climate and flora have changed in historic times. He is a Darwinist before Darwin and makes even the species arise in historic times. But he is also an agricultural expert. He maintains that as a result of cultivation and in proportion to its degree, the "damp" so much beloved by the peasant is lost (hence too plants emigrate from south to north) and eventually the formation of steppes begins. The first effects of cultivation are useful, later devastating owing to deforestation, etc. This man is both a thoroughly learned philologist (he has written books in Greek) and a chemist, agricultural expert, etc. The whole conclusion is that cultivation when it progresses in a primitive way and is not consciously controlled (as a bourgeois of course he does not arrive at this), leaves deserts behind it, Persia, Mesopotamia, etc., Greece. Here again another unconscious socialist tendency!

It's about fertility of fields, but then again the entire ecology pretty much started there, and as we can see, when entire thing was not even born yet, in 1868, it is abolutely obvious to Marx that only socialism can have any successes in maintaining the environment.
I thought i would share this since it's interesting how it is now being clearly proven, and maybe it would be of use against the ecofash.

Steam, lemmy and reddit are currently creaming themselves over a game which devs makes multiple really cringe "jokes" about slavery and exploitation. Read the steam page descriptions.

Those "pals" are clearly antropomorphised creatures being dogwhistle for humans. And if you read the game reviews, even the g*mers are not lost on that fact (just they love that):

Translation (google):

After Milei decree: Argentine companies will be able to pay their employees with milk or meat instead of money Chancellor Diana Mondino confirmed that employers and workers will be able to agree on contracts in any type of currency, including bitcoins, kilos of beef or liters of milk.

The Argentine government announced a series of economic deregulation measures that will come into effect starting this week, among which is the possibility of agreeing on contracts in any type of currency, including food such as beef or milk.

The information was provided by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Diana Mondino, who announced on Twitter that "we ratify and confirm that in Argentina contracts can be agreed in Bitcoin and also any other crypto and/or species such as kilos of steer or liters of milk".

In addition, the chancellor referred to article 766 of the Civil and Commercial Code of Argentina, reformed by decree of President Javier Milei, which details that "the obligation of the debtor is to deliver the corresponding amount of the designated currency, whether the currency is legal tender in the Republic as if it does not have it.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that Argentina has had to resort to barter: already during the economic crisis of 2001, during the government of Fernando de la Rúa, the exchange of goods and services without money became popular in the trans-Andean country.

The statements on the inclusion of cryptocurrencies and other species in financial obligations, within the framework of Article 766, pose interesting challenges. The incorporation of these assets into financial legislation is a topic of global debate, and their impact on the economy and transactions requires careful consideration.

How do you think this proposal can affect the economic and financial outlook in Argentina?

There is sharp increase of "India bad" news currently. Few years ago during their worst crackdown on Kashmir, western media completely ignored that, because US were using India against China. Even few months ago Biden went to India and explicitly told Modi US won't talk about any Indian atrocities. But now India refused to get on board of US sanctions and warmongering, so are they being ditched? Maybe even consent is being manufactured for some sort of imperialist aggression, especially that Russia plan failed and China look more and more impossible?
