Thank you! I will check it out.

No no, I mean just because Ukraine never stated they were "this thing" That joining a western cause is by extension a colonial cause. So the difference to some extent, from Ukraine and From Israel, is saying the quiet part out loud and of course. That Russia can fight back.

Would anyone here have a good book or evaluation of the end of the soviet union from a communists perspective? "The Communist" was a fascinating glimpse into a time period that I only have one perspective on. But there was way more to the experiment then whats in the movie. It's such a small slice and concludes before the passing of comrade Ilyich. Even if it's just a different narrative, it's just so refreshing to get these other ways of thought. We are drowning in ignorance over here in America.

To be completely honest I don't know what I viable source would be. I for sure do not have it from the horses mouth the way I thought I did. I know that I read that number on RT, however, it looks to me like RT might have been running a story from a British source because when I look now I see this one. And unless it's coming from an officers mouth it's gonna be hard to defend as a source.

Lots of claims from both sides regarding "leaks"

But I suspect that is all just backdoor misdirection and propaganda games.

There is this org that is clearly run by western institutions but they do seem to be intent on providing a counter narrative to the standard American one.

Could you point me to information or sources that you trust regarding the conflict? I have found it increasingly difficult to trust anything I hear these days.

According to both Russia and the west, 1 million Russians have died. 100% with you about Gaza. I see the power dynamic differences and I see Israels openness regarding ethnic cleansing and colonization. But being quite about intentions to colonize doesn't make it less insidious.

Something that always fucks with me about this is that even by Russia's own admission something like 1 million Russian soldiers have died in the war. Those are WW2 numbers! A million casualties in a modern fight is absolutely insane. And the only reason we don't call it a genocide is that they are armed and share cultural and blood ties to the people they are fighting. I say that Hamas was fighting for freedom when it did what it did and now an asymmetric power dynamic is leading to their destruction. That has a lot of the same characteristics as how the Russian/Ukrainian conflict started and why it continues. I am devastated by the 400 thousand or more dead now in Gaza. But somehow, for some reason that I can only conclude is, "Well they're Russian, it's how they do it." excuses it as merely war and not "war crimes" True Gaza is a concentration camp and Russia is not. True that Russia is in the fight and not merely "resisting." which is all the Gaza can do anymore. But Jesus H. 1 MILLION!

Boxer can't catch a break. I really loved this movie. I'm gonna have to sit on my thoughts with it for a while. It definitely sparked some joy and sorrow, and I have questions about other's interpretations. But, it struck one cord for me in particular that has been weighing heavily on me as I continue to seek revolution at home. People fundamentally suck. No matter what one might do to try to help them they'll kick you into the dirt and dumb your body in a shallow grave. It's is supremely ironic to me that America managed to convince it's working class, people for whom their job is often their entire identity, that a party literally "for the people, by the people." is their worst enemy.

I am an American. I have never particularly admired my country or it's behavior on the global scene. I have done heinous shit in the name of it though, and I took an oath to it's value system, flawed as it is.

Today I left my cave and I sought allies abroad. This is not metaphor. I found them. I found them in abundance but, they were so weak. I found people that would never be able to lift a finger to save themselves. Yet, They were on the side of rebellion.

Then, I went elsewhere. I found more allies. But, I also found an enemy. just one. In my entire evening I found just one person to say to me, "I disagree."

I had said to him because, he took the fascist stance

"Every removed that has covered their face and kidnapped an American citizen will be hanged for their crime."

I regret my choice of words in the moment. It was a slip. I meant Nazi. But I had been drinking and it was not about color. It was about behavior. Everyone in the building was white. Everyone I was talking to was white, but of course I was still asked to leave. I apologized to the man and I thanked him for his service (he was air force and Americans are cucks for the services.) I left and I beat myself up about it for a minute.

Then, I realized something. The room was dead silent. No one but the accosted spoke on their behalf. Not a single soul but this one man had said to me I was wrong. And Believe me the room knew what I was saying when I said it. I was asked to leave by the staff, for obvious reason.

We are not as alone as we think. It is a matter of showing spine and standing up for what we believe in. Show up. Stand tall, be proud like they are. Silence is complicity both direction. We can win this.
