That user base is a drop in the ocean compared to most of reddits user base, and those people have all left already.

But they're not even free. The Romans gave the bread and cicuses for free.

It doesn't matter how tactful you are, somebody will call you a creep for it.

Simply not eating until you expire.

Damn, I knew I could cut expenses somewhere! Those finance articles were so right.

This is what happens when people have a basic knowledge of history and basic background knowledge of their field of expertise.

That's not to minimize their intelligence and competence; that's to say that it is expected that astronomers would know the names and histories of major nearby celestial bodies.

Let's recall that the SCOTUS overturned a major precedent not so long ago. Precedent is not rock solid anymore.

This just boils down to the semantics of exactly what being a "main figure in a murder" exactly means.

If the man was murdered during the event, and the judge says that anyone involved in the event is responsible for the event's entirety, then by the judge's own reasoning Machado is guilty of the murder. If Machado was a main figure in the event in any way, it could thus be construed that he was also a main figure of anything that happened during the event, again by the judge's own reasoning.

Unfortunately DDG has gone downhill quite a lot in the last year or two.

Exception made for local businesses,

It's funny you say that, because in the last year or so suddenly my search results are being polluted with completely unrelated links to local businesses that don't even contain a single one of my search terms.

They've obviously struck some deal where they're shoehorning these ads into search results now. Very frustrating because they serve them as regular links so they bypass adblockers.

Really scummy move on their part, and it's made their service worse to boot.

You could just use aliases in your bashrc

alias dl=cd ~/Downloads

Might need quotes around the command.

It's possible he did and just cared more about how it affected him than how it affected his family.

I'll be dealing with my dad's wife in the same way inside of 15 years, and it's not because he can't see how she is. He just likes her money more than he likes his own family, I guess.

Oh my god, no. No, no, no.

Just because they aren't making those features available to you doesn't mean they aren't still tracking all that stuff.

That's a project from Habitat for Humanity.

Vocalizing support for someone else's project is a far cry from starting your own projects.

Maybe she is doing something, I don't know, but the example you gave isn't a good one.
