I changed my review to positive and realised i got played , its back to negative now and will stay that way until the 3rd party requirement notice on steam is gone and all the countries are unblocked. The people who refuse to admit they got duped are just coping like hell. I for one believe

WE DIVE TOGETHER, OR NOT AT ALL!

Title says it all. I changed my btrfs subvol names so I could use timeshift to manage my snapshots, after regenerating the initramfs and editing grub to point to the new subvol names all was fine however after I got a kernel upgrade recently, the latest grub entry for the kernel specifies the old subvol name, resulting in a failed boot. I dont know grub well enough to know what options to add to /etc/default/grub, or even if thats where I need to add it. After editing the entry manually it boots perfectly fine so theres my question. Is there a grub config option to specify the name for a subvolume to boot? I'd rather not manually edit grub.cfg every time theres a kernel update lol.

I recently passed my driving test and I need a music app that plays local files and can be controlled by google assistant for handsfree. I've been using AIMP for ages and its worked great but I can't specify any songs or playlists via the assistant, I can only tell it to "play music on AIMP" and it plays whatever I was playing before. I would much prefer a FOSS app to do this but if there isnt one available that works with the assistant then it doesent have to be FOSS. If I can't find an app that suits my needs spotify would probably be my only option but I've got a large library of music already downloaded and i'd much rather not pay for premium just for the ability to play my local files lol.

I feel we've done a good enough job at making smoking undesirable, effectively banning it is excessive. It would be better to focus on doing what was done to cigarettes to vapes. Kids arent smoking nearly as much but theyre vaping like mad. I see kids as young as 13-14 doing it. Vapes are allowed to look appealing, combine that with their nice smell and flavour, ofc young people are going to gravitate toward them instead.

Make it so vape packaging is bland and has similar warnings as cigarretes, and actually teach kids about addiction instead of just a hard "dont touch these". Everyone with a braincell knows that if you ban something from young people, theyre gonna do it more

I hope that dude gets his teeth kicked in. Slamming any kids head is beyond evil. Sub-human trash.

Is there any easy way to switch to your home instance directly from a post to allow you to comment? I currently use "instance assistant for lemmy" but that only allows me to view the community from my own instance.

Sometimes I like browsing other instances and only their communities and the only way I can figure out how is to visit that instances link directly, however when I want to comment my current workflow is to copy paste the post url into my instances search and view it that way. Is there any addon that does what instance assistant does but also works for posts?

It just isn't though. The major currency, bitcoin, was made avalible in 2008, there weren't any scams going on back then. It was meant to be as simple as a decentralised currency that the people had full control over. I think that's a great thing. It wasn't until scammers and grifters saw a new market that could be exploited because it required a good understanding of how it works to be used properly. Scammers dumbed it down and huge centralised exchanges came in opening the door to scams. However it's definitely not a currency yet, I'll agree, it's more of an asset. It's such a shame that a technology that could've helped put people in full control of their money has been diluted into such a shit show. Whenever I hear about a new project touting "crypto based" or Blockchain i wince like I'm sure you do, because NOW it's become a scam, it wasn't originally.

Simply put, no. The signal protocol as well as the app is open source. Although I imagine signal would not be on the Australian app store for lack of compliance, which is why you can download the app directly from their website. WhatsApp actually uses the signal protocol, but they close sourced it so there's no way to tell if FB put a backdoor into it
