I think it boils down to you need a lot of kids to run a farm due to the manual labor demands. You don't need a lot of kids to work in a factory or office.

Do you expect them to jeopardize their bonuses by spending money on human beings to support customers? Then you'll probably want them to keep them employed for more than a few months so they can actually become good at their jobs and familiar with the products.
The reasons I've heard (hah) are:
- They cost a lot
- People are biased against people who they see wearing hearing aids
- It makes you feel old and face aging
And economically NC is rated 17th and is a right to work and work at will state. It is growing insanely fast.

I'm still struggling with it. I clicked on a post that looked interesting and it took me to a server I didn't have a logon to. I wanted to leave a comment but I couldn't. Was I banned? Nope, I finally realized I'd been directed to a different server. Now imagine someone with zero IT background trying to deal with this. They'd probably just quit it.
It is interesting to be on the ground floor of something new though.
Some sorting would be good. I'd also like to be able to hide posts without having to block the poster. Right now there is very little user control.

I just occasionally wipe everything. I have to reenter passwords and such but it isn't a big deal.
