Oh, so apple can't make undercover CIA dogs?

Pretty similar for me except I swap the regular paprika for smoked paprika. Maybe a tad less versatile, but thhr smoke flavor works in most of the things I cook most frequently.

I wrote a shell script my mom just has to click on to run the updates and she still can't figure it out. The filename is literally "ClickHereToRunUpdatesMom.sh"

I'm also Gen Z

Still can't find a job, so I'm both financially AND mentally unstable

Understandable, moka pot coffee isn't my favorite, just thought it might be a serviceable budget friendly option. I've had decent cups out of mine by preheating the water before putting it in the bottom and putting an aeropress filter on top of the bed of coffee grounds.

Those piston machines are insane and the grinders are even more expensive. It may just be a thing that's best kept as a nice treat when you're in Italy then.

You may like moka pot coffee. I'm a real coffee nut, been roasting my own for over a decade now. It's a real rabbit hole, and something you could almost certainly get into if you'd like, but only really worth it if you're looking for a new hobby. If you're not, probably best to keep it as a nice occasional treat.

!kitchenconfidential@lemm.ee I miss venting with a bunch of other cooks on reddit, but unfortunately this community is pretty inactive.

Also it doesn't take much longer to make a burger at home. I get that cleanup can take some time, and a lot of folks are averse to deep frying at home. But if I want a burger and fries, nine times out of ten I'm going to make it myself.

I'm also a line cook so I probably enjoy cooking more than most folks

I don't blame you! I remember discovering him when I was in middle school and it felt like a life changing experience at the time.

Great summary, but just as a point of order apparently the bat might not have actually been alive when he bit it: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c72ppzwek90o

That being said, he apparently did on a separate occasion bite the heads off of two live doves. Dude was on hella drugs and alcohol, but goddamn was he talented.

I've got a big third pan of pickled jalapeños and fresnoes at my station that go on our soy glazed wings. I'm snacking on those nonstop throughout the day. They're awesome

My neighbor is in her 70s. I'm in my late 20s and live in the apartment upstairs from her, so when it snows I like to help clean off her car/shovel out her parking spot. Today she tried to pay me after I helped her. I don't want to accept the money, but want her to still feel comfortable asking for help/not feel like she's taking advantage of me. How should I go about this? Maybe ask her for something small so she feels like she's helping me too? It's never any trouble helping her with the snow removal, it never takes more than half an hour

Basically what the title says, what made you choose the culinary/food service industry? Why is this what you chose to do?

This industry is brutal. I'm tearing my body apart for $16 an hour just continuously reminding myself that I'm learning a lot and this isn't forever, but man is it kicking my ass. What do you all do to unwind? Is booze/weed really all there is to help you chill out at the end of the day?
