Capitalism is all about waste.
Okay, lost it at pouty face.
Firefly: Book: "I believe there’s a power greater than men, a power that heals." Mal: "Reavers might take issue with that philosophy."
Ursula le Guin anyone?
The Left Hand of Darkness might be interesting. The Word for Tree is Forest would likely get thought of as an odd Avatar clone. But The Dispossessed would probably never get made, people would find worth in the politics and abandon the megacorp making it.
See this is the problem with Lemmy. I want to tag this or even crosspost this to a Pratchett place ("unexpectedpratchett" or similar) but a) I haven't found a populated one, and b) I can't just type in its name if I have one or guess its name like you can in other media, and c) even if I did, the link won't work for everyone, and those it will work for are often (like me) sent out-of-app to a browser if they successfully click on the damn thing. Frustration.
Not in Australia.
...When I think about it, this Probably is unique to the US, as they have that weird "Minimum wage is tiny, so you have to pity the worker and pay them directly" caste-system mindset they call a "tipping culture".
It's because he's a telepath.
Yeah, the poor wording, clickbait nature and lack of studies is being discussed on that hacker news site.
Great when you can manage it, they often take my carry on luggage from me and insist on checking it. Had musical instruments forcibly checked like that against written policy and paid-for permissions several times now.
Also, some people like owning scissors. Or just have kids and need the extra luggage space.
Labyrinth, Willow, and of course The Princess Bride.
Be the change you want to see. Expose and vilify the owner of the company in question for the abuse they are doing to their staff for not paying them sufficiently.
That and gender-based rights and wages...
You would be leeroy then...
