Ah, well that question has been answered by others and myself elsewhere in this thread. Sorry for assuming that you might have checked to see if your question was already answered before asking it.

But hey, just for you, I'll repost what I've already said:

Because the police enforce the laws of the state, often with violence. If the law dictates that a person being open about their identity is illegal regardless of the fact their identity harms no one, and everyone involved in their actions consents, than it is the responsibility of the cops to oppress them. One year the cops might march alongside people at pride, and then the laws might change and they’ll be there to bust heads of anyone who shows up the next year.

And yeah, there no doubt exist LGBTQ+ cops, or cops whose friends and/or family whom they love are LGBTQ+, but so long as they wear the uniform they represent an organization used to oppress marginalized and minority communities.

Fundamentally, pride is not just a party, it is a protest.

Writer Carlos Cisco has indicated that they conceptualized the Breen’s solid form as an adaptation that they developed over time

Interesting.

It's completely unrelated to the current Disco story arc, but that does make me wonder if the Vorta and other Dominion species would have been aware of the Breen's goo form. The Changelings evolved the ability to shapeshift over time, but were originally solids. having the Breen start out as the soundtrack producers for the "Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage" video game, and later develop a solid form might seem anathema to the Founders and their worshipers.

Give me a bunch of “Jurassic Park” mascots or give me something else entirely!

I mean, if he was, he certainly isn't now....

Yeah, right now the idea seems to begin and end with more Trek by Terry Matalas, and if that's all they're bringing to the table...I'm good.

Even though I do like Seven, Raffi, and Crash LaForge, the ongoing adventures of Jack Crusher does not appeal to me in the slightest.

Which reminds me, that comic needs more Moriarty.

Now that you mention it, seems like a missed opportunity when the Defiant was sent to hunt down some persons of interest to not include Moriarty.

Yeah, I think "The Void" is probably a top ten VOY episode for me because of how it shows Janeway's inclination towards coalition building being successful. That is a quality I like in a Starfleet captain, but too often in VOY, the plot is about how Janeway and Co. get betrayed by someone they had entered into an agreement with.

If I'm remember correctly from Michael Chabon's instagram AMAs, apparently the relationship was based entirely on the chemistry that Ryan and Hurd had when they attended events together, so it was very last minute that they added the tease of a budding relationship in that final scene.

But yeah, they could have done more to build it up.

I wish I was familiar enough with miniatures games to give you an answer regarding playstyle, but my experience is fairly limited. My favourite miniature game would be FFG's X-Wing game, though I stopped playing when they went to second edition.

If your store has the space for it, have you considered setting up a league night? GF9 has a league kit that includes an exclusive Q figure, and that might be enticing enough to the purchasers to get them coming in, and you could get a good look at the game.

As far as the Romulans go, I really like the concept of the Qowat Milat. Also the expansion of Romulan culture to the point where we learned a surprising amount about their gods was neat.

I think Jurati's Borg have some interesting implications, and I'm very curious to know what the deal with that transwarp conduit at the end of season two of PIC is. Of course, we're never going to get a real follow-up on that.

And that's just from PIC, a series that I think is hands down the worst overall series of Trek.

I think the mycelial network is extremely interesting, and wish Disco would do more with some of the implications introduced in season one. The 10-C from season four are also very intriguing.

LDecks has been surprising about expanding on the cultures of various species, like the Pakleds, and the Orions. It also introduced the idea of the support fleet. And while I don't generally like it when death is something of a revolving door, I do think the idea of the Black Mountain is more interesting than the extra-galactic synths.

The thing is, we don't know much of anything about the EGS, right? They left the admonition as a warning to other synthetics, and when they show up, they're a bunch of metal tentacle arms. There's not really much to go on there. I would like for it to be expanded upon to, for lack of a better term, justify the inclusion in Trek lore, but when they showed up, I can't say I was anything other than disappointed.

Who would win: 56 years of Star Trek continuity, or one silicon based boi?

Yeah, if you have a local store that can get it in from one of their distributors, it will save you the shipping costs, and you’ll be supporting a local game shop. Also, Modiphius is pretty great about getting you a pdf copy if you buy a physical copy and email them a photo of the receipt.
