+1 for steam

I used to pirate my games on linux, but it's harder than on Windows. Steam's gaming on linux experience is perfect, just download the game and hit Play.

River levels are on the rise again in the flood-stricken Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul after more heavy rains on the weekend.

The Taquari and Caí rivers have burst their banks and are causing fresh flooding in the interior of the state.

More than half a million people have been displaced from their homes and 147 are confirmed to have died in the floods.

Rescue workers continue to search for people who are missing.

'member when we were able to self host servers of our games? I member. CoD4 was awesome because of that, later the pirated version of MW2 too. These games (the first MW and MW2) are still alive because of that.

Rob Schneider was an animal, then he was a woman, now Rob Schneider is a fly that mistakenly took a plane to London. Rob Schneider is going to find out that fighting for air space in the dirty streets of London is not an easy task.

The unmaintained repo has a link in the readme pointing to the best fork

Yeah but it's more complicated than that. Do you think the average user that for some reason uses Firefox will try to find out why his Google page isn't working? Last year Google was fined €2.5b due to unfair competition. This is not the first time, Google probably makes a lot of people switch doing these things. The top post of Lemmy is about Google turning itself into spyware and this just shows just how thats accurate.

Today, I noticed that Google wasn't loading on Mull (Firefox Fork). Switching useragent with the extension Chameleon makes the page load again.

This affects me in a personal level and show how much power social media gives to random people. Note that the girl didn't even had Instagram, she created one to respond to the fake allegations. She didn't had an affair, it was fake/made up screenshots. She was only 22 years old. Rest In Peace. Hopefully the page and owner get sentences as they played big part in the harassment (22mil followers page Choquei).

They basically posted that she had an affair with Whindersson Nunes. When she posted that it was fake, the owner of the page responded: oh come on, you can't fool anyone with those acting skills. She ended up committing suicide due to all the harassment from the fake news. There's a Xwitter thread explaining everything (English). https://x.com/oLucasWelter/status/1738347114306957514?s=20

Nowadays Arch is pretty straight forward. You have gui installers like any other distro. I never broke my Arch install in 3+ years using it.

This would make they pay more for a lawsuit in a country that takes consumer protection seriously, lol. Samsung had to pay me 5k(35% to the lawyer) because they refused to deliver a fridge on my apartment. They delayed the delivery, had me hours on hold, insult and tried to fright me whenever they talked to me. The fridge was 4,5k and it got done within 10 months. So good luck to Mac Donald's.

I have noticed that I interact a lot more in Lemmy than I ever did in any social media. Let it be Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter... I am used to be the lurker, but here for some reason things are different. Wonder if more people feel like I do.

In a shocking front page, a Valencia newspaper has accused Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr of lying about racist abuse he faced in a La Liga match.

On Friday, the front page of local Valencia newspaper, Super Deporte, depicted Real Madrid's Vinicius with a Pinocchio nose superimposed onto his face, branding him a liar.

This comes after the Brazilian forward testified in the trial of three people accused of racially abusing him at a match between Madrid and Valencia at the Mestalla back in May, according to the Daily Mail.

Vinicius has been outspoken about the racist abuse he has faced during La Liga matches, saying "They are not isolated cases" and lamenting the lack of action taken by authorities.

Valencia have repeatedly denied the claim that everyone inside the Mestalla abused the 23-year-old, despite the accusation being backed up by various figures including Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who said "there is something wrong with this league".

Now, Super Deporte have taken things to the extreme with their latest headline, accusing the Brazilian of "committing perjury" during his testimony "when he claims that the entire stadium uttered racist insults against him."

Windows just rips off every plasma feature at this point, even kde devs make fun of it

How did big tech companies got like these? Bigger cut for owners? I remember when a person got a job in Microsoft, Google, etc, it meant that they were financial stable in a good job that didn't drain all of their energy. We need tech more than ever now. Is it because there are so many devs these days? AI? All these things all together?
