my Dell laptop on debian can suspend and wake flawlessly, and uses basically no energy while suspended. Like 12 hours later it'll maybe lose 1-2%.

Then you know more about it then i do. So I'd trust your judgement on it over my own. I only know about the larger regions in general not specific areas like that.
I think it's more than that. I think the gaming industry as a whole caters to the loudest and most obnoxious minority. Lots of people enjoy video games, yet so many of them cater to 20-40 year old man babys. They put ridiculously sexualized depictions of women in their games, take little online communities throwing fits seriously, make their games simpler, and less engaging so people don't have to think while playing them, etc.
I think they are under the impression this makes them more money, but i honestly think it hurts them. There are plenty of games that could have been good, and i might have tried had they focused more on good mechanics and gameplay and less on things like crazy detailed graphics, big boobies, and other nonsense. I can't imagine im the only one who is just put off of the industry entirely by this stuff.
Honestly i would have to look a research for the specific area in detail. Every area has so many different factors that come into play it becomes very hard to predict without a ton of research. China has probably done the research, but i wouldn't be sure where to look for it.

Ugh gamer culture is the worst. Idk how the fun thing i used to do as a kid sometimes turned into one of the most toxic parts of modern society.
China is not immune to climate change. They have Typhoons along their southern coast to worry about, and will have to deal with food shortages like anyone else. I do think they have a path forward, but it wouldnt be easy. In an extreme climate change scenario China would basically have to use their High Speed Rail network to move all the fertile soil from southern China up into Manchuria, and Siberia. There is water in Sibera they could use, and if they work with Russia, and Mongolia they could turn a lot of that land into farmland once temps increase there. It would be a massive undertaking though. Like the biggest terraforming project in human history. And it would take years.
Southern China will still get too hot, many cities will have flooding issues, storms will get worse, current farmland will become less productive, the Gobi desert will expand, etc. How China does will come down to planning, and infrastucture. Not luck of the draw. That's the case everywhere. While yes there are regions where climate change will be worse overall EVERYWHERE will face severe challenges. Even the most stable regions.
China like most large countries will have regions that do decently well, and regions that suffer more. The US is no different. It's southwest is doomed, but the great lakes are in a pretty good position. China's big issue is food. They have a lot of mouths to feed, and as farmland becomes less productive food will be scarce. They're gonna have to put a lot of resources towards creating new farmland.
What??? The only part of this that makes sense is they should have gotten a nuke finished way earlier. Saying the Iranians put themself in this position is ridiculous though. The US narrative about Iran being close to a nuke is just that a narrative. They'd have bombed Iran and claimed they were making nukes even if Iran didnt have a spec of Uranium. See Iraq for an example.

Oh yeah I've had to tell ChatGPT to stop bringing up shit from other chats before. Like if something seems related to another chat it'll start referencing it. As if i didnt just make a new chat for a reason. The worst part is the more you talk to them the more they hallucinate so a fresh new chat is the best way to go about things usually. ChatGPT seems to be worse at hallucinating these days than DeepSeek probably for this reason. New chats arent actually clean slates.

So i have been thinking more and more about how stupid it was for the west to willingly deindustrialize. And ive had a realization about why they did it.
If you go back to when capitalism began to really take off a lot of the time different companies and capitalists acted very violently towards eachother. We can see how things like stocks and financial markets were used as a way to reduce inter-ruling class violence by providing an outlet for them to compete inside a legal framework they controlled. The gamification of it.
This seems to have worked for them for awhile. Allowing them to accumulate wealth at an insane rate without much risk of just being assassinated by some rival industrialist.
I think though this has ultimately poisoned their world views and will be what destroys them. In the current era rather than capitalists wealth being based on actual capital, factories, industrial output of their companies, etc. Its more and more based on market speculation. Even the ones who do own factories their wealth comes from stocks whose value is highly speculative.
They have forgotten that it is a game. They have lost touch with the material reality of power. So they willingly hand the means of production over to a communist nation in pursuit of more speculative value without realizing theyve handed the keys to the castle over to the people.
China basically joined their game, and let them feel like they were winning. Allowing them to become rich in the market while China accumulated actual wealth and power via industrial capacity. China seized the means of production without firing a single shot. Or technically, China tricked the west into handing over the means of production willingly.
I think there is now a small faction of them that realize theyre screwed. And its why your seeing so much insane behavior from empire. Its flailing about in a panic.
Because China has already won. The fight between capitalism and communism is already in its final stages, and the communists control most of global production while capitalists are incapable of catching back up.
China played them for fools. The hubris of western capitalists made them think they could simply use financial markets to control the world. They can't.
So whats going to happen now? Well the camp in the west who realize that they lost sight of reality will try to force reindustrialization. As they are now. But the majority of western liberals still dont get it. So theyll fight back to keep doing their financialized games. Sabotaging their own efforts to reindustrialize in the process. You can see this in how Trump and his goons are using tariffs to play the market or how the CHIPs act failed since the companies used the money on stock buy backs.
They are like addicts. They cant stop sabotaging their own system.
China knows this. Its why you saw Xi courting international investors recently. He was basically saying hey keep up the financial games we will make you rich. Like waving a beer in an alcoholics face when theyre trying to quit.
All this is to say, rejoice comrades, for our causes victory is all but assured. China has the west in checkmate. No matter what move they make, they will still lose. They may do lots of damage before their defeat comes, but i think that defeat itself is now a certainty.
Do not allow your own circumstances to blind you if you are in the west, or a nation controlled by it. For even if circumstances seem dire right now i think everything is going exactly to the Communist Party of Chinas plan, and their plans do not stop at Chinas borders. They will not be finished until every human being is free from capitalist oppression.
