The Democratic Party’s image has eroded to its lowest point in more than three decades, according to a new Wall Street Journal poll, with voters seeing Republicans as better at handling most issues that decide elections.

The new survey finds that 63% of voters hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party—the highest share in Journal polls dating to 1990 and 30 percentage points higher than the 33% who hold a favorable view.

I hate these Grub/boot errors. They are a pain to fix, not that it is hard, but I always have to read-up on how to do it properly. I am guessing you probably did an update maybe that caused this? Do you have a backup system to restore? That is the easiest fix. If not, next time get one in place. Here is a helpful 'how to fix' the issue.

You've got this! 👍

Gosh when you talk about issues that affect the working class, you get positive results. Hmmm..🤔, "outside the box" thinking. Not comparing him to Trump in any way, but wasn't that how Trump won over the working class by false progressive promises of fixing the economy (which he will F'ck up) and healthcare (which he will ignore,) lower food prices (which his tariffs will raise by the end of the year?)

I hope Zohran's campaign waves spark a better working class party. As for the Democrats, will he transform like most progressives in the DNC, into an AOC, sheep-herding voters into voting for neo-liberals? Time will tell. He unfortunately can't ever run for president being a foreigner, but love the 'shake-up' he is creating.

Spy in the loose sense. I would probably categorize him as an assassin first, with a side of spying.

The smaller size phones (I hate these Phablets,) 3.5mm jack and back finger print reader, (although my Pixel 4a5G has them, it will be the last,) replaceable batteries, and selfie camera that doesn't take up screen real estate.

Currently, X11 is not really being developed, just maintained, which is the real issue. In this piece they are questioning whether Wayland was a good choice or not. I am using Wayland, have for some time, and I do acknowledge it is still a work in progress, validating the articles list of 'issues' yet to be addressed, but unless you are running a really old system, I am guessing the complications affect a very minimal group of users. There are also workarounds, for example on KDE, the gtk apps don't adhere to those using the global menu. However, there is a fix to get around it.

In reference to using a completely different solution, isn't it a little late in the game (16 years in development?) I think we are stuck with Wayland, no?

If you are trying to get monetized, make some $$, a lot of creators are using Youtube as sort of a cross-posting system, ie edited or partial content so they won't get a copyright strike, or offend the fascist YT censorship, then in the video reference your Peertube/Odyssey/Rumble for the full version. It helps also to transition or train viewers on alternative platforms.

Not a huge fan of the Avatar series, but here is the new trailer for the latest. Is it me, or does it look like more AI generated than the previous ones?

Same, although I think I watched them all, cause, well, Bond, I liked his version the least. Bond himself, imo, was not campy, but the setting in which he existed at times, was, like a comic book setting.

Promotion of war propaganda into the culture? "Mom, why am I growing a 6th finger?"

Don't worry, high-fructose corn syrup and unnatural dyes came a bit later for the cereal. It is like they want us dead.

Sir Roger Moore quotes of note.

Today I am completely opposed to small arms and what they can do to children. I played every role tongue-in-cheek because I don't really believe in that sort of hero. I don't like guns.

To me, the Bond situations are so ridiculous, so outrageous. I mean, this man is supposed to be a spy and yet, everybody knows he's a spy. Every bartender in the world offers him martinis that are shaken, not stirred. What kind of serious spy is recognized everywhere he goes? It's outrageous. So you have to treat the humor outrageously as well. My personality is entirely different than previous Bonds. I'm not that cold-blooded killer type. Which is why I play it mostly for laughs.

My acting range? Left eyebrow raised, right eyebrow raised.

I don't see this as genre specific, it is happening across the board. Either it is a huge blockbuster hit, or it is not, most are not. Economy + Stay-at-home-streamers will continue to hurt the movie business. Maybe if they lowered prices, hired better writers, stop with the sequels and reboots?

Do Quokkas Actually Throw Their Babies At Predators?

This question started as an online joke, and as time went on, people started taking it seriously. The answer to the question isn’t that simple, however. Firstly, it should be noted that no, quokkas don’t throw their babies at predators. That is a joke, but it is somewhat based on reality. Quokkas keep their young in their pouches, and while fleeing from predators, babies are known to fall out and are then left there by their parents.

The thing that is interesting here is that the part where they fall out of the pouch may be done on purpose by the mothers. Research shows that this may be an actual anti-predator characteristic of quokkas. They normally have very strong control over the muscles in their pouches, so their response to the threat of predators may be to release those muscles. The babies are left there to attract the attention of the predator, and the parents can safely escape. Mothers want to save themselves because they have proven that they are fertile, while the young might not be.
