There’s a world of difference between napping in the crosswalk and needing to use it to get to work, but when there’s social license for drunk drivers, you don’t have to be lingering there to get hit.
@Glitterbomb @Dogyote They’re detaining absolutely anybody they think might not be partial to the regime. They demand you make your social media pages public so they can see if you posted anything critical, they’ve sent people back for things as simple as memes. Plenty of the people they’re sending back are their exact racial preference because *the chance to exercise power* is the draw to this sort of work (though that often goes hand in hand with racism, when overreach must be more selective.)
