Bien d'accord.

No that's not what I was implying, but I see how it can be interpreted that way.

What I meant was that more people will mean more assholes in general.

EDIT: I misread your comment. That's actually what I meant lol. A weaker Yen means more people and therefore proportionally more shitty behavior.

That's what I meant. I guess my comment can be misinterpreted.

[–] cyborganism@piefed.ca 21 points 3 weeks ago

Of course! Probably more, even.

What I'm saying is, the more people you have, the more assholes you get. it's proportional.

I installed it recently in a VM to check the latest release and the instalation process is not as user friendly as Mint.

For everything else though I guess you're right. But Mint has more quality of life stuff.

I'm currently in Japan and visited Kyoto and the bamboo grove a few days ago. Tourists here are such shitheads. Because the Japanese yen is so low, traveling to Japan suddenly became very accessible and brought in all kinds of shitheads that have no idea what courtesy or basic human decency is.

People would still do it because people.

LOL! The only time I did an oil change at Canadian Tire, the mechanic asked me what oil they should put. I told them it was literally written on the cap.

Yeah Debian is stable, but it also doesn't come with an easy to use app store or pre-installed codecs for multimedia.

The installation process isn't exactly user friendly either. And if you plan to use BTRFS with Timeshift for easy snapshot creation, you have to do some pretty technical stuff.

And finally, there's stable and stable. Linux Mint being Ubuntu based is already VERY stable, but you still get fairly recent packages. With Debian you have to wait much longer for the latest software.

I love KDE plasma, but I find that it has way too many customizations. I like Gnome's approach of simplicity and integrating everything well. I just don't like their default desktop paradigm. They tried to do something different and too simple and it pushed a lot of people away or required heavy customizations line Zorin did. Zorin desktop is what Gnome should've been.

It's great, but it's too complicated for people who are not as technologically literate as us.

No. That he remains paralyzed but aware.

Guys. Why are numbers so god damn complicated in Japanese? lo!!!

Ok ok in English and other languages we have different names for numbers whether it's one, two, three, or first, second, third, etc. But, that's about it. In Japanese you have to pronounce numbers in so many different ways!

I need help! How do I remember what to use? Heck, I don't even know what the other numbers are! Ok so I know the regular numbers, plus N-ばん for number one, number two, etc. But what's "first", "second", "third" etc?

And what about dates? Age? Inanimate things? Things that are alive, whether they are small or big?

What are some good resources or good mnemonics that you use to remember all of that?

Hey there. I'm having a lot of trouble with Proton VPN. I get disconnected frequently. I have speed issues as well. This started tonight Sept 9th around midnight EDT.

EDIT: Thanks guys. It seems it was on Proton's side of things. Maybe they were doing updates or something? I can't find any reports anywhere.

Hello,

I'm currently playing RoboCop Rogue City and I'm having issues with the audio. As I play, the audio stops every 5-10 seconds for about a second or two. This really breaks the experience and is also a problem during dialogues.

Here are my specs:

  • I'm using Kubuntu 24.04
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor 2.2GHz
  • 32GB RAM
  • NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 8GB
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (Wi-Fi)

Note: I'm using the onboard audio, but the audio is going through HDMI to my monitor to which my speakers are connected.

This isn't the only game in which this happened, but I can't remember which games that was. It's usually in more graphic intensive games.
