Use powder...
- tablets contain anywhere from 2x to 4x the detergent you need
- tablets only work in the main wash cycle and so you have no detergent for the first wash cycle
- powder is substantially less expensive
Use your fingers to open their mouth/jaw. Place pill as far back as you can reach. Hold their mouth shut. Lift their head slightly and semi-aggressively stroke their neck which will force them to swallow. Double check they didn't houdini the pill at any point along the way.

Maybe this all comes down to the boss of the other team not being a dick? Life and work are not separate things. A good manager knows this. If your manager is making you work through lunch , not take breaks, not go to the doctor, etc. then you have a manager problem and this has absolutely nothing to do with who does/doesn't have children.
