I have section on nodebb forum that can only be viewed by verified users. If email is not going through, so they cant self-validate, can I as Admin verify them?

@julian I was confused by the use of the phrase hash. So the post has an ID number, but theres also a field saying which ID number it was in before (if it has been moved) ?

@baris its MongoDB

Great, can you explain best way to access topic hash and remove it please?

Is there a way to edit the database so move field is cleared? I moved some of my forums initial posts a long time ago and dont need the moved arrow or the 'moved from xyz' against them now.

@julian yes I never expected it so function on Mastodon, of course not. but when putting that symbol combination into Mastodon post, and sending it to nodebb you would think it would trigger nodebb side. Actally its hard to understand how it doesnt activate spoiler on nodebb side, given its the same 2 characters. Im more perplexed, than bothered, that it doesnt!

In Federated messages, the !> doesnt work even between nodebb instances that have the plugin. Not a big issue but its actually interesting that it doesnt work. For example here a mastodon site sends that code in a post to a nobebb site that has spoilers installed, when it displays the post why isnt the Functionality triggered? 1000050044.jpg

Is the word Spoiler hardcoded? How to change if I want it to say Answer, for example?

Also if my spoiler has 2 lines how to put page break in E.g. >! Line1 Line2

To come out Line1 Line2

Thanks @baris , could this be added to ACP extend so I can install without needing server access?

Im doing some education material on a nodebb forum, where want the answer hidden until its clicked. I think its possible in HTML, as saw spolier somewhere before?

So to have something like Why did the chicken cross the road Answer When Answer is clicked it changes to To get to the other side

How to enter this?

This looks good. Just my thoughts on Lemmy, I have various issues with it not federating well to various site at times. I mention this only if you encounter testing issues with Lemmy, more likely the issue is their side. It has some good features but its frustrating as the instance I use appears to have bugs!

How are your userbase going to connect? Is it over a Local Network or something? Interesting concept to use nodebb in an offline mode!

I followed mander@medicine.xyz from my account on this instance, and another nodebb instance. This one shows Following, the other shows pending! Follows dont need acceptance do they, why the difference? 1000042774.jpg 1000042776.jpg

Also, why a settings icon only on my nodebb instance?!

My nodebb website doesnt look like this one. (no boxes along top showing recent posts etc)

I figured my default install Theme must not be Harmony (which is this one right?)

I went to ACP > Themes and I was surprised to see both Harmony and Persona listed as 'the default' and the forum is supposedly on Harmony already. So why dont I get the boxes at the top? Screenshot 2025-02-07 114726.png

Previously discussed, it takes a while to follow a set of people who might post on the topic of your forum. Having done that, and got an interesting World feed, its a shame that isnt available to new users

Suggestion, World category has MyWorld, and World tabs Where World follows Admins followings, and MyWorld shows post from the users followings

Hence new users get access to a World feed which is already populated. It would make the most of this feature, that is completely empty for new users, who probably wont have any idea how to start getting posts in there
