Even for indexes I do index or something more specific for what it's indexing. Any simple iteration I just do map or each so the only time I ever need to actually index things is for more complex scenarios in which case it's worth it to have better names. Also with modem IDEs, auto complete is really good so you don't need to write a full variable name more than once.

If she turns herself in I'm sure she has evidence of some crimes she committed

No, it's not a pyramid scheme, it's not a ponzi scheme, it's just a good old fashioned investment scheme.

I've had to filter out a lot of instances for being full of propaganda, most likely Russian.

Chromium has always existed. Originally it was wrapping web kit and later they forked web kit into blink and diverged from Web kit. Chromium is a level above the engine.

I've been thinking if we could just make all companies employee owned by law. You'd still get the benefits of capitalism but instead of vampiric investors getting all the benefits it would be the employees that reap the rewards of their own hard work. There are already employee owned businesses that compete just fine against investor owned businesses so I feel like it's already proven out.

I'm wondering if they will even decide to try to federate. They're bootstrapping threads with Instagram that already had 2+billion users. That's insanely big compared to the fediverse. What do they even benefit from enabling it?

I think it's half moderators on strike, and half people acting disrespectfully because they have no respect for Reddit since Reddit showed them they have no respect for them. When the platform is run by a malicious faceless corporation there's less of a feeling of obligation to be civil, but on Lemmy these instances are being run by volunteers and when I see the hard work they're putting in to keep things running it makes me respect them and it feels more like an actual community that I want to treat well.

We were warned. We were told it was a tipping point situation and things would seem ok until they aren't.

I've signed up for a bunch of them and still haven't decided where I want to make my main. I know that annoys some people but I love it because it means I get to have a choice! I think I'll have a Lemmy world account since they're big, buti also want to find a good smaller community to have slower more meaningful conversations. I hope the Lemmy protocol adds support for account linking some day.
