While I appreciate the utility of snaps and flatpaks for providing sandboxed, cross-platform apps, I've often found them slower than traditional packages. Their tendency to take up more disk space also feels inefficient, especially when system resources are sometimes precious. For these reasons, I generally prefer using apps installed directly through the system's default package manager, which tend to offer better performance and use space more efficiently....

xfce4-terminal has always been my go-to terminal. It may not be the lightest or the best, but it does have some neat built-in features like opening a drop-down window....

I've never used mint myself, but I've heard good things about it. Last time I used Ubuntu on actual hardware was around 2008 I think. For the most part I've been using either Arch, Debian or Fedora....

I usually have a minimum of 8 tabs open, but right now it's something like 24. I've recently gotten into a bad habit of opening tabs & not getting around to them until maybe a week or two, maybe sometimes more. I really need to sort out my tab game & start being more productive....

I've only ever had two problems with Arch based systems....

  1. Nvidia drivers..
  2. Installing poorly create aur packages..

If windows 12 actually does require a monthly subscription, more people will probably consider Linux....
