@mattblaze@federate.social Like many bad things, we need to be reminded of them to prevent them from happening again. I think there is a need to preserve some of these spaces and tell their story, along with the stories of people who suffered in the so-called Cold War. I try to remember that I am only here because it never became even a “limited” Hot War. I’m not sure folks nowadays understand that.

@mattblaze@federate.social Understood. Might be an urban legend, or risk accepted, no way to know.

@mattblaze@federate.social Agreed. I’ve seen some rumblings that it is considered as a backup evac route for VIPs when they are in town. But, nothing definite… nor would I expect there to be.

@mattblaze@federate.social Track 61 as I recall. Brassy elevator doors are still there, last time I looked it had a discreet MTA emergency phone number sign on it.

@mattblaze@federate.social Just curious. Everything I know about the two is open source, but I think I’m still supposed to keep my mouth shut about them.

@mattblaze@federate.social Just curious, how much do you know about the FAA use of CORKSCREW nowadays?

@mattblaze@federate.social And if I recall correctly, the location of the last tree(s) in Manhattan per the film Soylent Green.

@mattblaze@federate.social You haven’t experienced that bridge fully until a crane rolls off it and gets stuck. Late-1980’s as I recall.
