What's this format better at compared to mp4/h264? I know mkv is used for movies, but why?

I had this stupid idea after reading this to experiment with my internet habits. I'd like the address bar to only be used for URLs.

found the solution: set keyword.enabled to false

I just can't be fucked. I have win10 on my laptop that I boot once a month to run some windows programs but other then that I don't care about it. The only reason I see myself upgrading is to maybe know how to help my relatives with their windows 11 problems.

Cool, this was easy to install. I don't see "Rando" menu option however, menu is same as before

upd: thank you for help on discord, it worked! Needed to use windows installer via wine. This is a better solution than sledgehammering the whole desktop brightness

Yay, gammastep is just what I needed!

gammastep -O 8000K -g 1.5:1.5:1.5

For the last year I've been playing lots of classic DOOM. DOOM has one feature that I started to appreciate ever since I learned about it, which is the ability to roll up brightness very high. This is what doom looks like when I play it:

I miss this thing in lots of other games. Recently I've been trying to get into Deus Ex (2000) via wine but it was so dark I couldn't see shit. Maybe it's my monitor that's not very powerful or my environment that's pretty bright by itself, but I feel just the simple ability to gamma correct any game or the whole desktop would solve this problem for me.

Do you know any such util that works on wayland?

I went with Vesktop in the end, thanks for the suggestion! I tested official client some more but sometimes the audio input disappeared when I routed my game to it and never reappeared until I restarted the client. With Vesktop this doesn't happen. Also you can select audio sources in GUI that's nice.

Ok tried the app and it seems to be working! Haven't tried with a real person but it looks right in qpwgraph

So I'm able to share my wayland screen from both firefox and ungoogled-chromium using pipewire+xdg-desktop-portal-wlr. However my stream has no audio.

I've found several posts on the internet of 3-4 years ago (e.g. https://old.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/lfxbik/tutorial_how_to_share_audio_on_discord_or_any/ ) where people just had an extra audio input in pipewire when sharing screen to which they could route their game audio. But for me there's only my microphone input and chromium says "To share audio, share the tab instead" when screen sharing.

Has anyone been able to get audio working?

upd: Vesktop is what worked for me
