You should hear some of the crazy shit I hear them say around town out here in the aticks. Full tinfoil hats. But they all have the same things in common: 1. Gullible idiots that will believe absolutely anything if it releases them from any personal responsibilities 2.generally older with too much time and too little to do. 3. Deeply unhappy despite attempts to project otherwise. 4. Confused and annoyed why others don't like them or want to spend time with them.
I understand that is a desperate attempt to placate downtown St. Paul business and building owners but it is just a bandaid and is just dumb in the long run. Remote work isn't going anywhere but highly qualified state workers might. And downtowns are still going to be full of empty expensive office buildings nobody wants.

Rural US guy here. Starlink was a game changer. Believe it or not. I had neighbors nearby still on freaking dial up until 2 years ago. Today it's Starlink at 150Mbs/s down, a phone company with copper lines at 12Mbs down, or something like Hughesnet at 2Mbs down
However I'd love to get the hell away from Elmo's stuff... Even if it costs more.
Agree. I moved from a post WWII suburb to a town with 112 people to 40 acres and only 1 neighbor. I can't stand people and this is much better.

Not surprised to see Farmington involved in this. A veritable cornucopia of ride or die soccer moms, evangelicals, NIMBYS, TikTok 'Do my own research'-ers, MAGA faithful and wealthy entitlement.
