PLB is a good idea but like you stated earlier, I prefer to go prepared to stay safe; warm, cool, hydrated, dry. My kids get annoyed that I make them take extra stuff even on short walks but I don't want to have to rely on someone else rescuing us.
Yeah i came to say this. There's no toilet paper in most of China. Some fancier shops may have it but most don't. Even McDonald's in China doesn't have toilet paper most of the time.
That's tragic. Always listen to mum when she tells you to take a coat.

I completely agree here. I found city entertainment to be cheaper and more fun for children. Sure my house cost me twice as much but at least there's a cultural weekend almost once a month at my local market.

Agreed they all DC's are and will be a problem but agriculture has everything beat with water usage. Still doesn't hurt to conserve drinking water by shorter showering. I'm not going to do it but I can't fault people that do.
