  • September: Membership opens, first draft documents published and regional assemblies start.
  • October: Assemblies continue, draft documents revised, online vote on party name.

Ok I'll create the first thread. As name is important here is a chance to chat about ideas.

I like "Your Left"

It both forces future MPs and party leaders workers etc to remember it is the members party. Rather then MPs ala PLP. While also ensuring a left of centre bias to the parties idealism.

Labour very much from recent history lost / threw away membership control. This will act as a long term reminder.

I made a group on SimpleX. In case you aren't aware SimpleX is one of the the most secure messaging platforms because it takes the secure encryption of Signal, but removes the requirement for identification. This improves the repudiation ability, and because of its federated design it is extremely hard to suppress. Although I guess on lemmy I'm preaching to the choir. As a digital privacy nerd I figured it would be important for the new party to have a secure place to chat that isn't at the whims of Meta.
