This is the same guy who directed the Black Mirror's Star Trek homage episode "USS Callistor"

So apparently this is from the guy who did the "Too Many Cooks" special, which is kinda awesomely weird. It will be interesting to watch!

This week’s barrage of show tunes kind of makes sense, given that this is a series that, Mr Benn-style, has been trying on a different genre every week.

I think this is one of the reasons SNW is so good.

The pick ’n’ mix approach of Strange New Worlds is a welcome palate cleanser, even if it means any overarching story arcs seem rather secondary.

And that is totally fine and even welcome!

Oh no. Those are the actual actors singing.

Hehe, yeah, I guess, there's no honor in that. :)

Oh yeah, great idea. Kinda like the Simpsons gag or so:

  • If they ever have a mirror episode, the opening credits should be horizontally mirrored
  • If they ever have a time travel episode, the opening credits should go backwards
  • Another cross-over episode? DS9 or some other ship better appear in there! etc.

Wait, what? I didn't realize the Klingon captain was Bruce Horak!

As someone else mentioned in another comment, it's bonkers that SNW can do a cartoon episode, a war episode and a musical episode back-to-back. I love now experimental SNW is!

Or even just the way he was running to catch up with Mariner.

Did you not learn anything from Mariner? Work is gonna be there still ~~five~~ 45 minutes from now.

Good CGI/LED walls blend in. If you notice it, it breaks the 4th wall a bit. Battlestar Galactica 2004 had CGI and it worked so well and looks very believable.
