I'm not doubting she had a pet lynx, but the animal on the picture next to the boar looks more like a dog to me. Lynx shouldn't have floppy ears.

I would really love to try something like that, but I don't want to sink money into it just to realize I hate it.

Du kannst nicht guten Gewissens das Ökosystem von vor ein paar tausend Jahren mit dem Heute vergleichen. Der Lebensraum für Wildtiere ist seitdem geschrumpft, die Zahl der Katzen gestiegen (alleine 2000-2023 von 6.8 Mio auf 15.7 Mio laut Statista). Und das anpassen geht nicht innerhalb von ein paar Tausend Jahren, die Prozesse sind von der Größenordnung her im Bereich 10-100.000 Jahre minimum.

So schlecht ist der Vergleich nicht. Die einzige Katze die in Mitteleuropa draußen rumlaufen sollte, ist die Europäische Wildkatze. Alle Hauskatzen, die nicht ausschließlich drinnen sind, erhöhen die Raubtierdichte künstlich.

Naja, eine von der du es sicher weißt. Das heißt nicht zwangsläufig, dass die anderen nie jagen.

Guckt euch mal den letzten Asterix & Obelix an. Die Übersetzer haben eine Anspielung auf das Lied reingeschmuggelt.
