Hello! I need to create a VM and passthrought some host USB port to it. Sadly libvirt doesn't support QEMU built-in feature to use -hostport argument (which was added 10 years ago...). I tried to add custom arguments to domain (qemu:commandline) but this didn't work. When I just run qemu-system-x86_64 -device host-usb,hostbus=X,hostport=Y -usb everything works well. It seems like libvirt restricts some QEMU actions. How can I fix this? OS: Debian 12

Recenty I changed my old NVidia GPU with nouveau to AMD. I installed firmware-amd-graphics and set up radron kernel driver. But when I try to start X11 with default config (X -configure) it fails with no screen error. Kernel radeon driver works well and tty resolution is proper. When I try run Debian live usb X.org works well. Xorg.0.log: https://pastebin.com/7tsvGA7r OS: Debian 12

I am using Debian for long time and really like it for stability. Recently I wondered if it is possible to run Arch Linux from chroot. I want to run full Wayland session from Arch. I found Archbox project and it is worked for me, but I couldn't start any Wayland compositor from tty (Error: can't connect to Wayland socket . ). How can I properly do this? Or maybe there is a better way than chroot?

I also cannot connect to host via ssh. How to fix this issue?

Upd. Fixed my changing server WireGuard IP to 10.0.1.1. 10.0.0.1 was already taken

Grayjay is proprietary, so I don't think it is very good for privacy and freedom

Death of Piped? (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 month ago by user_naa@lemmy.world to c/privacy@lemmy.ml

Last two weeks every time I use Piped I am getting error "Sign in to confirm you are not a bot". It happens on every instance and videos work very rarely. It seems like Google enforces you to log in if you try watch lot of videos from one IP. I hope this will not be end of Piped and there will be solution for this problem.

Upd. I got similar problem on Invidious recently

Is there any good alternative to parted, that I can use in scripts? Parted main problem is that it requires user confirmation one each action.

Try to rephrase the question: is there an alternative to Mastadon in Fediverse where you can write posts in different threads (not only in your own feed)?

[-] user_naa@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

It is too powerful for small messages posting

I think Mastodon can implement similar like system as in Lemmy

Many people use Mastodon to follow PeerTube channels. It is very convenient that you can fetch videos to your feed and even post comments & replies from your account. But you need to login to PeerTube to like videos. Is there a way to improve this?
