I was never in any doubt that there would be a season 2. I guess if you aren't going to announce right away, the next best time would be the 1-year anniversary. Excellent news that it is going to stick with Madhouse. I hope that they are able to bring in a lot of the talent that made the first season what it is.
My personal favorites of hers are the Lycoris Recoil ED and the My Hero Academia ED. My favorite of her non-anime work is Anonymous.
Alternative title: "Kiyan Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Okinawan"
Yeah, it isn't super clear just from headlines, but it is unlikely she will actually serve time in prison. She was given a suspended sentence. So, as long as she doesn't commit any similar offenses in the next three years, she will have been considered as having served her time without actually going to prison.
What's wrong?
Yeah, I was surprised by this too. The character almost always has a box of fries in her hand in the manga, so it makes sense that she is associated with fries. However, like you said, if this is a trade association meant to promote fries, then it is questionable whether this is actually helping.
Reading through the article, it seems like this case can be chalked up to (likely) criminal mismanagement. I mean...giving huge unsecured loans to company executives while at the same time not paying the royalties you owe to other production committee members. It just sounds like embezzlement with extra steps.
You've got some good suggestions already. Here are a couple that I think are good for somebody that is fairly new to the deep rabbit hole of anime tropes/conventions:
- Mushishi - My personal favorite anime of all time. Very contemplative and melancholy. Don't binge this, just watch an episode before bed or something like that, and let it sit in your brain.
- Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - This just recently finished airing its first season and was excellent in every respect. Classic high fantasy story (think Lord of the Rings) which follows the near-immortal elf Frieren in her travels. Very approachable for previously non-anime watchers.
- Cowboy Bebop - An all-time classic space western following some bounty hunters.
- One Punch Man - A humorous take on the superhero genre. If you are looking for something more comedy oriented, this is a decent starting point.
Not that I remember. This is from "Farming Life in Another World" which is an exceedingly ordinary show. I have watched the show and read the manga, but I don't remember this as a plot point (and I am pretty sure this would have stuck in my brain). If I remember correctly, this scene is the group of elves introducing themselves to the MC as they are moving into his village.
Pretty funny joke subs though. Something as crazy as this might have made the show more interesting tbh.
How have I never seen this before? I have been reading manga and daily driving linux for years. Instant must-read! Thanks!
If you haven't read this series before, it's fantastic. The author crams in so many visual gags it is really impressive. Also, they are able to keep surprising with the humor. One of the risks with these silly premise manga is that they get old. However, this one has only gotten better as its gone on.
I only wish it published more frequently.
It's been a whole year of posting in this community! It's hard to believe it's been that long. It feels like just yesterday that I created this account after the drama surrounding the defederation from the ml instance.
Something that I mentioned briefly in the post up above, but wanted to call out once more, is that hitagi might not be nearly as visible as I am in this community, but they actually do a lot behind the scenes to keep things running. In addition to everything involved with the infrastructure of running the instance, I was just looking through the reports I have received, and roughly half of them were resolved by hitagi prior to my ever seeing them. It also works out nicely that the two of us live on basically opposite sides of the globe, meaning that we have pretty good time zone coverage. So, even if they aren't posting as much as I am (I mean, who is really?), hitagi has been a vital part of keeping things running smoothly here.
As a sort of unofficial celebration of the anniversary, I am happy to do a kind of mini-AMA in this thread if people have any questions for me that are on their mind (either anime-related or not).
