Not too bad. Eight days after the official Firefox release is not terrible.

Hello @firefox
Do you plan to integrate extensions support into the iOS application in the future?

I have enabled the option to delete browser data when closing the app because I prefer to restart with a fresh clean slate. This worked for me for a long time, however recently I noticed that it doesn't erase all the data anymore. I close the app, it shows the clearing message and when I reopen the app I have several issues.

These are things that don't work as expected:

  • all logins (without auto log off from the server side) are still active. I don't store my passwords or anything, so there should be still the respective session cookies around.
  • entered formular data is still around. When I open a website where I have entered text in a form it is still there. This does not happen everywhere e.g. not with search bars but with some enter username forms, so I believe it depends on the settings of the respective website
  • sometimes when reopening the app the section of the starting page showing the previous visited websites still shows the history for about a second and then gets cleared. This even happens if I have turned off my phone in between, so I don't think it's just because everything still was in the RAM. However this one is the most random of the issues. I cannot reproduce it on purpose.

Any ideas on how I fix this without clearing the entire app cache manually after every use? The first one worries me the most because where is the point in not storing pwds when it stores the session anyway.

Autorefresh on Android (discuss.tchncs.de)
submitted 9 months ago by Aopen@discuss.tchncs.de to c/firefox@lemmy.ml
  1. Open any website
  2. Switch to another app and do literally anything
  3. Go back to Firefox
  4. Tab reloads for ~5s and wipes all form data

Poco F3 6GB
MIUI 14.0.9
Fennec 121.1
Battery saver: No restrictions
"media.aboutwebrtc.auto_refresh" - False

I doubt ram is an issue as there is always at least 1.7GB free. This bug has been occuring or a long time. 3 years old reddit post about it

Can I fix it myself or should I wait for it to get patched? I dont know if this is appropriate place to post this, but I cant use github

A great video about the Manifest v3 and how Google is trying to make you view ads.

If you don't know about smart keywords, basically you can set phrases as shortcuts for specific bookmarks. I want a folder with all of my keywords synced, and that folder only. On each profile or account I have have whatever other folders and the placement of the folder with the keywords doesn't matter as long as they have the same name.

This means 123 is now beta and 122 giving the ability to visit ipv6 sites (which i am looking forward to) should be out soon. Then its just a matter of waiting for Fennec F-Droid to be built and released.

I can't seem to find any rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes the casting button just doesn't appear as an option. I first noticed when I tried to watch something that was a youtube video that's in 4:3 so my best guess was maybe that somehow had something to do with it but I tried various videos at different aspect ratios, frame rates, resolutions even different videos on the same youtube channel as where I has actually succesfully found the option presented.

This is probably happening for all sorts of video but I noticed it with youtube and did my testing there because that's where this extension works the most reliably and where I can be confident some other weird factors about how the website is setup aren't responsible for a video not being able to cast.

This has started happening a while ago (previously there was not perceptible delay) and luckily I don't have to visit HTTP sites very often but it is annoying and I would like to get rid of it.

I know HTTP is bad TYVM. I only use this HTTPS-only mode to forcibly upgrade to HTTPS whenever possible and be notified if it doesn't work.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to disable it?

Why does @firefox have to keep profiles hidden in "about:profiles" like they're illegal to have. It's quite literally the 1 feature stopping me from using it over Vivaldi. That and vertical tabs, of course
