weeks ago I found out I'm getting a bit fatter and I don't like that. I started running and working out 2 hours a day a week ago.

My diet so far: on a budget, but without extras like artificial sauces or ready to eat meals. I usually eat lots of whole bread without anything on it (I used to mix it with cheese or butter, but Iḿ cutting that out), lots of turkey breasts to prepare stews with tofu, veggies like cabbage, carrot and cauliflower, no pastries, no alcohol. No coffee but tea.

I invariably have to eat bread with my meals, because otherwise I won't feel full, but I also eat bread at night and apparently, carbohydrates are not supposed to be ingested that late. What could I substitute bread with?

I run before having breakfast, but I don't know if I should dinner less and reduce my bread intake at dinner. OTOH going to bed feeling hungry seems to be a bad idea, or am I supposed to go to sleep feeling hungry? Is there any advantage to doing this?

I may eat a cheese sandwich while at work if I have nothing else at hand.

What works for you?

very similar question to my last one but this time with management, not a coworker.

Similar because she keeps pestering me with what to her seems to be an important issue. She doesn't seem to understand that I'm there to work and not to socialize. On our last conversation she told me we're a big family and that I'm welcomed to be sincere with her with a big smile, to me a fake one.

So many red flags I wanted to run, but I still have to articulate it in office speak so she stops pestering me.

Context is an exit interview management is going to use to try and convince me to stay, but I don't want to work there anymore, too much drama and cattiness over dumb crap.

my real question is do you like the pressure in Neuronation (a game). On some test you know can solve it if not restricted by time.

I broadening it up, to see more opinion like in the job market nowadays asking for able to work under pressure.

So.. for me in the context of Neuronation (and maybe in the real job) I do.. not like it but force myself to do it, let it go if i fail, and play next test. im quite old btw, and i don't think can pass the Neuronation test that quick even im young

From on MGM+ is absolutely fantastic. I love the mystery, the horror, and everything else about it. I am excited to see where it goes. I also absolutely love Foundation on Apple TV+, amazing CGI and fantastic world (or universe) building.

So I found out from my grandma that my Facebook account got hacked. I haven't used it in like a decade and don't care about it, but I also don't want it being used to potentially scam people.

I told everyone I know who still uses FB to block and report the account. Today I was trying to get the account shut down and it is now locked (says it's not visible and can't be used by anyone). Is that enough to prevent it from being used for malicious purposes? My only goal is to keep people like my grandma from getting scammed.

I'm hoping it being locked is enough to solve the problem but wanted some extra feedback from people who maybe know more than me :)

I have a project stopped a couple of months ago and I want to resume it.

I started for Mobiles, but after a little more research I realized that it was more complicated than I thought, and I don't know if it can have the impact I would like it to have (which is not much either).

So I don't know if I should concentrate more on PC development until I have a little more experience and then make the leap to mobile, or should it be the other way around? start with mobile and then to PC?

What would be the most profitable path in terms of learning and, if possible, generate a modest income?

Honestly I would kill for hadestown the musical as an animated movie. Or most musicals for that.

I will go first with the John Wick 4 Killer poker scene and of course Casino Royale. Not looking for movies with plots completely based on card playing.(like 21) Please post your favourite scenes. Cheers

[Insert: This is not legal advice blurb, don't do and don't encourage anything illegal]

[Insert: appeal to authority as to why I should post this question and should have your attention]

[Insert: divulging something specific only to me or to maybe a few hundred people in [country/continent] to ideally encourage engagement so more people reply]

Just curious.

Here is what I mean by this. Out of all the times I've been to a doctor, been visited by a cop, called the cops, been to court, went to school, and so on, I've realized lately that I haven't had a single good experience with any of them.

Doctors either always tell me nothing is wrong when something is wrong or said something was wrong when something wasn't. Got traumatic brain injury? Oh it's just a bonk on the head. Got blue balls? Bring em in, doc needs money. The presence of doctors here is so inconsistent with recovery from things like illnesses that the place resembles the stereotypical Sparta-obsessed fascist nation where hospitals don't exist by design.

Police and courts will give you no luck at all stemming from having absolutely no consistency with how they deal with things whatsoever. I've seen child abuse cases where babies are left with behavioral issues that mirror those child rehoming documentaries and the abuser gets two months, while also seeing small cases of assault that lead to two years. I've had instances where I ask police about something they can do. "We'll look into it" they say. Nothing happens. The next thing that happens, they're blaming me for a dead tree from my yard with a branch that snapped off and fell on a neighbor's fence, and I go to get sentenced.

My teachers were like these examples too. Did I benefit even once from my teachers? No. Did I benefit from the social environment? No. Did they treat me like Mr. Burns treats Homer? All the time. They didn't see me as a person, they saw me as a goal. And they would never mind cheating their own rules to achieve it.

And the moment they don't think they have a job to do regarding you, the same jobs they half-ass anyways, they treat you less like an individual to remember and from time to time treat as an equal human and more like a bird you pushed out of a nest without intent to hear from them again. And I didn't realize this until recently, that I have no positive experiences with public servants. Makes me almost not want to work.

Anyone else?

As a 6'2 man the clothes I find which are right for my height are often very loose on me. And if I worry about the waist I look like a kid who grew a lot in the past 2 months and everything is too short for me.

Its not entirely universal, some stores are better than others. And I wear a lot of loose casual t-shirts so thats fine too. But finding dress shirts means some places work, some don't.

I'm not gonna lie I simply forget about most communities and post in the same 15 or so. Mostly big ones and specifically lemmyshitpost. I would post more in meme communities but I feel like far too many posts just don't qualify as a meme. Might be funny, not a 'meme'. And even if I do I just forget all the specific communities.

How do you manage posting stuff and what are your posting habits?

Also is there a way to check how much you've posted where?

Started doing simple dumbbell exercises recently and was curious about what others are doing.
Been trying simple neck exercises too. No weights, just chintucks and isometrics.

Please do share your experience/suggestions/opinions on the it and related topics like sports, calisthenics, general physical health etc.

Do you know any exercises that are rare? Or ones that seem special to your locality?

Regarding food:
How do you meet your protein or calorie goals? How do you track it? Especially food that is local to your place.

On a tangent:
Are there cool plants that are less known or that'd be useful if more people tried growing and including them in their diets? Do mention your locality or climate of the plant.

Very unique and unpopular opinion, I know, but I hate watching ads during a show. Fuck the advertisers; I refuse to pay attention.

Rather than doom scroll, I'd love to hear what you think I should do when ads are on.

To make things challenging:

*often I'm pinned to the couch by my senior dog who I'm loathe to move unnecessarily, so getting up and doing squats is often out

*loud activities are probably out, see above

*be specific, 'I play games on my phone' - but what can you play casually, for 30s at a time (for example) and then happily go back to watching your show?

*use adblockers bla bla, not always possible and not in the spirit of my request.

That being said, all suggestions are great - I'm sure we'll all get something from it. Stick it to the man!

I’ll go first. I love watching Over The Garden Wall every October, either on Halloween or a bit earlier. What about you?
