This was my first experience with it and it was not good at all. I couldn't do more than 2 sips. Was it a bad batch?

Here in Europe our lagers and pilsners have a really good body flavour, malty and a sharp after taste.

I am reading the the Sam Adams Boston Lager has gone to shit.

Are there some other cheaper alternatives?

Two bottles of Anchor Christmas beer have come into my possession this past year: one from 1993 and one from 2000.

Their complete provenance is unknown, but until not long ago they were held by a bar that has since closed. For the sake of this conversation, let’s assume they’ve been stored in close to ideal conditions. Currently, they’re in my fridge.

Are these just fancy collector’s items, or are they in shape to drink still?

I’m drinking a holiday ale from New Belgium and a chocolate lava cake stout I got at Aldi. What is everyone else’s drinking for thanksgiving?

As the title says. I'm driving home from a hunting trip and passing through Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota. Trying to see if there are any highlight beers coming through these states that I should look for if I stop in at a liquor store in each state.

Original Fat Tire was my go to beer for years. I was pretty disappointed when they changed the recipe in 2023. The new Fat Tire just seemed too generic, not as malty as the original amber. I literally haven’t had one since the first week the new recipe came out. Fast forward to today and I decided to pick up a case on a whim. Upon pouring, the color looks darker, and more like the original. Taste wise I can’t tell but it seems better than I remember it? Is it just weird nostalgia or have they changed some aspects of the new recipe to be more like the original?

For the past few years, my brother and I have had a fun tradition: we gift each other the most bizarre and awful beers we can find for birthdays and Christmas. It's become a bit of a competition to outdo one another. But now, I feel like I've run out of ideas—I can’t seem to find anything weird or gross enough to surprise him.

Some of the strange flavors we’ve already tried include Chilli Chocolate, Key Lime Pie, Lemon Smoothie, and Apple Crumble.

Does anyone have suggestions for outrageously bad beer flavours that I could send his way?

For me there's one I always think of. Hook and Ladders Flashpoint pale ale. That was an AMAZING beer. Something about the taste was so crisp and perfect.

Also Weyerbachers Insanity, Heresy and Blasphemy (I stand corrected, I thought these 3 were all out of circulation, it appears Heresy is the only one not in circulation according to their site. Good to know I can still get the other two!)

Just picked up a sixer of this and I love it. It's incredibly smooth. I was expecting a bit of "spiciness" from the rye, but it's just a smooth drinking beer. At 8.3% ABV it hits, but doesn't have an alcoholic taste. If you can get some I would highly recommend it. And before it's said, I know it's a "reissue", but it's not been produced for quite a few years so it's new to me and probably many others.

I’m relatively new to drinking beer, but this beer is really freaking good to me. So simple yet full of flavor. Genuinely sad that it’s seasonal. Does anyone have any recommendations for beer that tastes similar that’s sold year round? Live in CA if that helps.

Not sure if the title is allowed here but this beer in specific tastes so much like cannabis (not to complain as im an ex smoker/edible user) can someone explain this to me or is my brain just imagining the tastes? Had a lot of beers in my time especially craft but this one reminds me so much of cannabis. Thanks and apologies if this was against the rules.

Seems to be buzzing around the interwebs. Looking forward to reviews before buying a big pack. Especially given how nasty Kirky-Light was.

I used to work as a merchandiser, filling shelves and making displays and helping with deliveries. For financial reasons I decided to move up into a sales relief position. When a distinguished salesperson is on vacation or needs help, I will write orders for grocery stores, gas stations, etc. But since we’re so short-staffed, I’ve been working the same particular set of bars, restaurants, events centers for the last few months since I’m the only relief salesman available.

My bosses say that I’m doing a good job and that I shouldn’t worry too much, but I feel like I’m sucking. Whenever we have meetings and go over sales trends, everybody is profiting whereas my accounts are all showing red flags (down in volume, loss of kegs on tap). I just feel like a substitute to put out fires and not an actual distinguished salesperson that’s making the company money. I asked one of my bosses how he sold in this one brand of beer at a restaurant that’s has been too receptive to our stuff. He sarcastically replied, “I smiled and waved.” I have pretty positive interactions with all my accounts. But sometimes just being friendly isn’t enough to sell product.

I’m starting to think that none of this is a good fit. It’s not fulfilling or meaningful and that I don’t really fit in here.

So for the past few years, I’ve gotten some Samuel Smith Winters Welcome for thanksgiving and wondered, what is your go to thanksgiving beers or what pairs well with a turkey dinner?

My family does secret Santa each year and this year I got my Aunts partner who is an absolute piece of shit.

Context so you can get the idea:

He’s an abusive alcoholic that’s caused a giant rift between my Aunt and his daughters and even kicked my Aunt out of her rental property bedroom because he needed he’s sleeping space.

Now I don’t want to spend $2 on the prick but I’ve been convinced to “just get him beer” to keep the peace.

I’m trying to find something disgusting and low rated but having no luck

Cheers in advance for your help

Because money's gettin tighter these days I've been buying more and more in bulk to maximize cost effectiveness. But I tend to get bored of a beer if I have too many of them so I always go get a variety to keep things interesting.

For my go-to's it's the Long Trail Survival Pack for local craft breweries and the Guinness Pub Pack for the macro's. The Survival Pack is changed seasonally between summer, fall and winter with the line up changing. So the current one in stores is the winter one which nets you standard Long Trail, VT IPA, Limbo IPA and Hibernator Scottish Ale. 12 beers for the standard cost of about 16 bucks (prices vary a lot depending on where you get it) is pretty alright as far as craft brews go. The Guinness Pub Pack is sold at a discount beer store currently for about 16 bucks, gets you 15 cans split between normal Guinness, Harp Lager and Smithwick Red. There's better dry stouts, pale lagers and red ales but imo none are as affordable or as available as Guinness so it's a good buy for me.

For reference my absolute favorite beers are Old Rasputin and La Chouffe. But at 8-9% it’s not easy to drink more than two.

Any recommendations highly appreciated!

Looking for brands that were available in the mid 90’s. I remember Pete’s Wicked Ale, JW Dundee Honey Brown (I know that is still around) Micheal Sheas Black and Tan, etc.

Tried their old Rasputin and Scrimshaw recently but was curious about their Belgian Style Old Abbey Ale

ive been back in the U.S for a few months but I’ve only tried and seen their stellar IPA when I lived in Germany.

Promise I searched before posting, but if this is a repost go ahead and downvote to hell.

Just wanted to say how pleasantly surprised I was to see a SA mix pack that actually has 4 seasonal beers. Not 3 plus B Lager.

That's all.
