As the title says I can't add them and I actually get an error message when doing so that the admin hadn't changed. I don't really mind but others may as it is about plex. But I can access it as a non logged in user.

Sorry if this is obvious, but I fail to find where I can donate to fmhy. I see the support button on top, but that donates to lemmy if I'm not mistaken? How/where do I donate to you guys directly?

Decent mildlyinteresting sub on Lemmy but it feels really barren out here (reddit refuge here). Can't find a sub for my breed of dog or my make of car. Looking for some suggestions for solid Lemmy subs to make me feel like there is something going on here.

Thx u.

What lemmy android app do you recommend? I have too many problems with jerboa. My problems with jerboa:

  • When I write a pm to someone it sends that message to myself
  • Language of the interface is Polish (my first language) and I can't change it to english (at least on the version that I'm on rn)
  • Scrolling is very buggy (it stutters a lot)
  • Often when I want to make a comment it doesn't send it and I have to go to my pc an rewrite my comment to be able to send it
  • It doesn't play gifs on the feed by default, I have to open the image to play the gif
  • It doesn't play gifs in the comments at all and there's no way for me to play them
  • There are no embeds for videos (not sure if there's any mobile app that has that)
  • etc.

What I'm looking for:

  • An app with developed UI/UX
  • Obligatory dark mode
  • Something that resolves my problems with jerboa

Any recommendations or apps that I should follow the development of?

As I understand that front end is privacy oriented and is not down (I just checked r/ukrainewarvideoreport) since it doesn't use the OAuth tokens, or is it the other way around? Anyway, whats the federanus stance on that one? Its slow as hell but I still check in from time to time to keep in the loop. What's you guys take on teddit.com yay or nay? I'm thinking of creating a mirror community and shamelessly steal.. er borrow the posts, whats a good vid downloader tool for the reddits new API? I'll need to go to the source right?

The ones listed in the wiki are either very troublesome or have dead links. Do ya'll know any good ddl sites or trackers for them?

I want to start reading some ebook, what's your recommendation?

It should have some kind of library where I can see my ebook collection (with cover) and should save my reading progress.

Anything that fit my criteria?

I was able to download some textbooks a while back but they never stayed permanent and I guess had some sort of DRM that made them expire after 14 days.

anybody have any way to get around that and download books from the Internet archive to keep permanently without issue?

I would just use one of the other download sites listed in the megathread but none of them have the book that I'm looking for. TIA

Awesome. (lemmy.fmhy.ml)

There is finally a decent alternative to reddit, after one has been needed for years? And it's open source federated software?? AND I can sign up on an instance that supports free sharing of media?!

I have been waiting a long time for reddit to fuck up badly enough that something else could fill the vacuum they created and do it right. Awesome.

Following this post yesterday, the errors encountered by other admins were sorted and we realized captchas were not enough of a reason to keep people from experince the best version of Lemmy.

We are now on v0.18 with registration applications turned on, this is a temporary requirement until captchas are added back. If you encounter any bugs with the new version please mention them in the comments.

(Clear your cache if the new version doesn't load for you, should work fine after that.)

DnD Beyond (lemmy.fmhy.ml)

Is there any way to access DnD Beyond or a similar tool? I've been using sheets for a long time for other RPG's and I wanna see if there's a way I can lower my work load.

Here you can see 2 day old post warning about the danger of not using email/captcha verification: https://lemmy.ml/post/1345031

And here are stats of lemmy platform where it shows that we gained 200 000 lemmy users in 2 days: https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/dailystats

Another tracking site with the same explosion in users: https://the-federation.info/platform/73

What do you think? Is it some sort of a bug or do people run bot farms?

Edit: If you want to track if there's any sudden bump in amount of users on our instance you can do so here: https://the-federation.info/node/details/50294

Edit2: It's been now 3 days and we went from 150 000 user accounts 3 days ago to 700 000 user accounts today making it 550 000+ bot accounts and counting. Almost 80% accounts on lemmy are now bots and it may end up being an very serious issue for lemmy platform once they become active.

One of the admins announced in the comments that they will be defederating bot instances, you can track defederated by us instances here: https://fba.ryona.agency/?reverse=lemmy.fmhy.ml

Edit3: It's now 4th day of the attack and the amount of accounts on lemmy has almost reached 1 200 000. Almost 90% of total userbase are now bots and so far our instance didn't experience any sudden increase in the amount of created accounts.

Edit 3.1: my numbers are outdated, there are currently 1 700 000 accounts which makes it even worse: https://fedidb.org/software/lemmy

A fellow mod informed me that about it as I was laying in bed. Reddit sent a message to the mod team and after 1 hour demoded me. I didn't even had time to see it, never-mind respond to it.

Looks like we rattled reddit enough to start shooting. There goes all that fancy talk about our protest not affecting them much.

Just FYI for now. It's late here so I'll see how we proceed tomorrow.
