Hi everyone, whenever I try to install Android 11 it gets stuck on this screen and does nothing more. Tried to do it a couple of times but the result is the same

Hi, that's a question I haven't found an answer. I tried to install Android in my Erista multiple times, using one of the (many) spare SDs I have here. However, each and every time, after the installation finishes, Android starts to give multiple errors, and I never got to see it actually working. Maybe the reason is that I need to have it installed with Atmosphere? Thanks

Hi,

I just booted up in Android for the first time in a while, and it worked fine. But I got the same message as this person in hetake, "Old Nyx Gui detected, there will be dragons". So I thought I would update it and downloaded 'hekate_ctcaer_5.7.2_Nyx_1.2.2.zip' from here and dropped it onto the root of my SD card, and clicked replace as per these instructions.

I then booted it back up, and still got the message about Old Nyx Gui detected but continued on anyway.

Now, however, when I click 'More configs' I get the same message as this guy and there is no option to choose android. I checked the hekate folder I downloaded, and there is no file in the ini folder.

He says he fixed it by "Simply needed to download the icosa tab zip from the switchroot site and put the files from there onto the root of the SD card. After that, it worked perfectly again"

I've downloaded that folder he mentioned from here and got the file from the ini folder, and put it into the empty ini folder on my sd card. All the other files are the same.

I now have Android showing up in 'More configs' but when I click it, the device restarts back to the first "Old Nyx Gui detected, there will be dragons" screen so I think it's just restarting hetake.

Does anyone know what I've done wrong or how I can fix this? Thanks!

Today I’ve been having a constant issue where my switch randomly crashes android into a kernel panic, I’ve tried both android 10 and 11 on 2 different sd cards yet it still doesn’t stop crashing it, I did some research on what a kernel panic was and I heard it might have something to do with faulty ram, and I had a overclock on my ram and cpu when on android 10, did I complete mess up my switch, or is it a sd card issue? And I’ve tried Ubuntu and Lakka to test it and they both have random kernel panic crashes too.

Hello, I just installed Android 11 today and it works for the most part. However, when I tried to use Steam Link or Moonlight, I noticed that my left stick drifts upwards for all games. So, I downloaded a gamepad checker app and I saw that it is indeed drifting to the top but when I boot to official firmware and do calibrations and play games, the controllers seem to be fine without any drift?

My question is, can this be fixed by tweaking something or is it my joycons malfunctioning? Thanks!

I was wondering if anybody knows of a place I can ask people about optimizing Retroarch cores on Switchroot for specific games. This is mainly for N64 as GBA, SNES GB and NES all seem to work without a hitch.

Hi. I'm a recent transfer from Reddit, as many are here, and have gotten into exploring Linux on Switch. Honestly, this was actually my first in-depth involvement with Linux, although I have messed with it in the past. Anyway, on to the main topic. After some ups and downs, I was able to get Steam to work via a combo of Pi-Apps (wine64 and box64) and the L4T Megascript (the steam install script by itself had some issues). While some games seem to work ok (The Talos Principle is pretty much playable at this point), it looks like x86 (32bit) games are not cooperating with DXVK; they only work with OpenGL through Steam's WINED3D launch command. Otherwise, they don't even launch, and crash immediately. This wouldn't be too much of a problem, except some 3D games look like they'd perform much better (or be outright playable in cases with unplayable games) with DXVK.

I've tried everything from installing 32bit libraries (spoiler: L4T 18.04 either does not work with them half the time due to dependency/compatibility issues, or cannot find them the other half) to updating sources and installing new software/updating drivers; nothing's worked so far. From what I can tell from the Proton logs, it looks like it has to do with i386/32bit drivers, but I can't be sure how to fix this given the before mentioned issues. I just wanted to check in to see if anyone else either had this issue or had any ideas to remedy this. That being said, anyone have an idea of how to fix this? The bulk of what's causing this seems to be summed up in these two lines from the proton log:

"Error loading needed lib libGLX_nvidia.so.0" "terminate called after throwing an instance of 'dxvk::DxvkError'"

I might as well add that I've looked in the discord, and didn't find any answers there either.

Mind you, x64 games seem to at least launch off the bat. Again, from my own research, it seems like this is related to Steam or DXVK (or both) not being able to find i386 drivers/the drivers just not being there, but I have had no luck fixing this on L4T Swithroot Ubuntu. Any assistance would be appreciated, and I can provide a full log if needed. Thanks. In the meantime, I'm gonna keep searching online to see what I can find.

I've made a tutorial on how to use Switchroot's Android as a Desktop! You can check it here: https://github.com/AndusDEV/AndroidDesktop-NX

It uses Android 10's Desktop Mode feature and farmerbb's "Taskbar" launcher.

So basically I was using the android boot from icosa and left my switch on with the screen off over night. Now my switch is not powering on not showing the charging logo, just a blacks screen even after charging with the Nintendo charger for 24h from different outlets. Please someone help me I also tried different chargers still nothing. TLDR: V1 switch with autoRMC off showing no signs of life after running out of power in android boot.

On-Screen Controls (lemmy.world)

I just installed Android 11 on my Switch Lite and was wondering how I can map buttons to on-screen controls for games that don't support controllers. I tried using Mantis Pro since I use that on my phones but it's not working properly here on the Lite.

video stutters (lemmy.world)

I'm new to Switchroot and am currently using A11TV beta 2 on my erista switch. I am getting frequent stutters whenever I try to watch content on apps like Netflix or HBO Max. It's normal for a few minutes, and then brief bursts of video stutter start, mixed with moments of normal video. This is also Widevine L3 content, so 540p at most. Are these bugs related to the beta, or are SD cards just that much slower? I also tried performance mode in Switch configuration and it didn't help. This is a fresh install of the beta
