According to Wikipedia, they don't cut it out. They cut it, then seal one side. Seems to me that it should be called a vasotomy.

Wikipedia or not, that is not the way mine was done. They cut out a small portion of the tubes then cauterized both ends on both sides.

They often remove a small section of the tube to reduce the chance the two ends reconnect and heal.
