looking at industrial labellers, angry at AI. I should be able to tell it to give me a comparison of PT-E300VP vs PT-E550WVP, tweaking for cost and availability of consumables but nooo instead it's putting milk tits on musk

Tech companies using the term 'AI' is like Porsche continuing to use the word 'Turbo' on their electric cars. Meaningless marketing bullshit. There's no 'intelligence'. It's just the marketing buzzword of the year.

I have a high-horse on this subject and by god there's no way I'm getting down from it.

oh zero argument here I'm just still megapissed because I'm old enough to remember the net before SEO and corporations jammed their dick unsolicited up its arse and yea, for a bright shining moment I used to be able to actually tell it "Give me a breakdown between A and B" and it would

Oh I hear ya. I'm an old fart who started on Gopher, first browsed the 'World Wide Web' in Lynx in a Unix session and thought visiting AltaVista in Mosaic was the shit.

The way the net (and tech in general) has been in a downward spiral for so long, when originally there was so much promise, infuriates me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go feed my horse.

NNTP and IRC are still there. We could go back. We'll probably go back. Like kids discovering HAM radio.

Two words my friebd: Fred Mail.

In related news I just found out that google has decided to start ignoring the site:.au command

So what little use i had for it on a commercial front is now utterly gone.

Fucking dead internet, It took me ages (via google) to find an actual formal hire shop that I could visit and not some online service that wanted me to dance through my own fitting then mail me a suit. e: or a bunch of aggregator SEO sites for the online suit hire places.
