I must remind my potatoes of how good they would be in a stew. They are so cute and chubby!
I think they were held in earlier times as a deliverer of meat, for people who lived in cities and didn't have the space to hold pig. I guess? It would make sense.
No they were literally a delicacy. It was thought that eating them would help you sleep better.
