I'm calling it now: Putin has abandoned Trump.

Since Kamala has come along and and stole all his thunder by being... normal, Trump has lost the plot, but the last two weeks are on a whole new level.

I believe that Putin is cutting his losses and has walked away from this dumpster fire. This is what's causing Trump's (even more) unusual behavior. Sure, he's old and demented but the stress of losing his backing force has been weighing on him.

He's stressed about what happens to him now. Without the backing of Daddy, if he loses, there is a good chance he's finally held to account for his crimes. If he's not, does Putin finally wield what he's got over Trump to destroy him as punishment for failing?

But, don't consider this job done. Trump still pulled it out in 2016 after being written-off in the polls. The only chance you crazy, freedom-loving Americans have is to vote. Vote like there is no tomorrow because imagine what terrible revenge Trump would be capable of, if he does get into power now after being so badly burnt!

It's possible as well that his family have officially told him to go fuck himself or he's been told by his lawyer that he's going to jail

He has a real chance of losing now and less than a month left. So surely he must know his life as he knows it has a serious chance of changing for the worst.

If he loses this election, the guy literally has nothing else to live for. Even he must be starting to recognise that screwing so many people has left him vulnerable

We also don't know about what other things he's being investigated for that haven't been announced (and there are likely a lot). He might have some insight to that too

I can believe there are still people who think Trump is ever going to go to jail or face serious consequences. Best hope we have is for him to drop dead or overdose on big Macs

[-] auzy@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Why not? He's violating state of law too, and he's pissed off no shortage of judges either no doubt

Just remember, it takes years to persue this stuff, but there are a few that are wrapping up now

Oooh, do you think maybe he'll just have a bullet burrito for breakfast if he loses? I'd submit it for national holiday status.

He's not the type of guy to go quietly. You'll have another Jan6 first

[-] SynopsisTantilize@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

Nah. Jan 6 was once in a long time thing. I'm putting 5 bucks on him appealing everything until he dies.

Preparing a disinformation campaign on that scale takes time and resources.

putin has been busy controlling his own citizens since the counter attack of Ukraine in August.

trump is still his biggest hope to achieve his goals in Ukraine

[-] macattack@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Why would Putin dump Trump? That's like Netanyahu dumping Trump, no?

[-] ikidd@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Yah, that's optimistic.
