I got a Puma 100 last week from the bay. The images were 👀 - flattering, and I was surprized about the state, but the price was low. I have heavy staining on the blade, and I might need to unpeen it. Manual polishing didn't get me very far, but the integrity of the blade looks ok, as far as I can tell. Affaire à suivre!

Oooh, when will your friend @PorkButtsNTat@fotofed.nl post a photo? I'm curious 😄

Here we go:

It's actually very difficult to get a good photo of the stains...

Oh, yeah, this looks barely stained in the photos. Nice find! I'm curious how the unpeening will go. With this triple rivet, there's more opportunity to ~~mess one up~~ learn 😅

I'm hesitant: the scales are in excellent shape, and I've never unpeened anything. The rivets are very loose though. And I hoped that I could get away with only removing 1 rivet..-

I find the repeening scarier than the unpeening. When I started out, I got myself cheap plastic scales from Maggard to train on and I didn't regret it.

And I hoped that I could get away with only removing 1 rivet…-

I mean, sure, but don't you want the three rivets to look the same afterwards?

Not necessarily.

But I think I will avoid (un)peening for the moment, until I find myself a cheapo razor I don't mind destroying for practice

That would be my approach as well
