This is not true. It's a regular neighborhood, though that it has a lot of people of East African and Southeast Asian ethnicity is correct. Once upon a time, many decades ago, it started as a housing development. That hasn't been the case for a long time.

Anyway, it is a great community garden. I drive by there all the time and it's very active.
