The whole show is just plausible deniability.
And the "Wormhole Xtreme" episodes are just their attempt to head off anyone SAYING it's for plausible deniability. "Oh, you mean like the episode in the show? Oh you silly crazy people!"
It's all one big conspiracy to keep us in the dark.
Oh god, could you imagine Trump overseeing the Stargate Program?
An intergalactic golf course where you hit the ball through the Stargate.
EDIT: ON THE OTHER STARGATE THERES A MECHANICAL IRIS THAT OPENS AND CLOSES IN CADENCE LIKE AT MINI GOLF
