Or they have and used it as a guide instead of a warning. There are movements to write optimistic sci-fi or anticipation novels instead of dystopian ones because of this.
They wouldn't pay attention to those either. You'd have to start a big movement to write novels where rich tech bros are super successful but also a robust social safety net and a moneyless, post-scarcity society were a utopian future and they might care. And good luck with that.
