Relevant info is in the first paragraph. Probably more info in the linked article by the group that actually got the leaked docs.

According to leaked documents obtained by The Information, the two companies [Microsoft and OpenAI] came to agree in 2023 that AGI will be achieved once OpenAI has developed an AI system that can generate at least $100 billion in profits.

I mean, at least it's not some stupid vaguery that armchair dullards will argue in circles forever about word meanings and minor technicalities that have nothing to do with AI and everything to do with their own malformed views of reality and humans behavior.

They're called "programmers". They think it makes them sound smart.

Programmers don't have a say in any of these shenanigans. Specially marketing definitions or business buzz words like what they just made here.

Sorry, missed some words at the end there.

I was just bitterly celebrating that at least this dumb money based definition doesn't give people more shit to argue over.

I'm real tired of the armchair philosophy 101 shit people keep spouting. "But what really is intelligence? How do you know humans aren't just stochastic parrots? If you redefine words to mean different things and oversimplify everything, there's no difference between a human and an LLM. You're just too stupid to see the truth while I am very very smart."
