White noise from the slow humming fans, perfect!
And you can wake up when your big job is done and the fans ramp down! living in harmony with the machine
Oh man, you have no idea. I've learnt to wake up when the noise dies, it means something's wrong.
For the era of tech shown, you'd also have tons of clicking and whirring hard drive noise as well. Old Hard Drives are noisy. You can hear all the seeking and read/write operations.
Personally, I find that noise comforting, but the inconsisent nature of it would make it hard to tune out.
you're not wrong, but with enough drives the different seeking noises just blend together so you don't hear the single one, just the wider harmony π
