it has long slim legs and a lot of patience
If it's this guy, a "daddy long-legs", he's your friend. I have these all over the house all year round, and I go out of my way not to disturb them, because they are supremely beneficial: They eat other spiders. Their long legs make them formidable fighters in a 1v1, and they will murder all competing spider races as a matter of course. This is really nice if you, like me, aren't bothered by daddy long-legs, but are bothered by spiders like this fella, which is a common housemate in my part of the world.
By keeping a legion of daddy long-legs as pets, I almost never see any other type of spider inside my house. It's a symbiotic relationship, and I love my spiderbros.
it is a daddy long-leg! They seems really nice - in fact he dropped the rest of the fly on my keyboard for me to snack. It was also nicely wrapped in spider webs!
I gotta figure out how to get some daddy long-legs to move in with me. I've caught 4 small wolf spiders in my house in the past 3 weeks. This is unacceptable.
