@croyle@wandering.shop Looking at your pictures, and that of others on Mastodon, makes me realize something. I haven't lived! π
@kr1st@mastodon.radio Better get to that before it's too late! :) Health issues and economics have reduced my getting-out-and-living considerably, so I'm glad I did some of it when it was easier.
@croyle@wandering.shop @kr1st@mastodon.radio
it makes me feel better to hear that, being in a similar place. Last night I counted the years it has been since Iβve been on any sort of multi day trip for fun and I sobbed a little
@Geojoek@mastodon.hams.social @kr1st@mastodon.radio Getting out and exploring the hell out of the local area is my usual substitute! Lots of history and interesting stuff to be found most places, even in the US. π

Here here (hear hear?). It's one of the reasons why I decide to stay living where I do: I've been here 25 years and there's still so much I haven't seen yet.

@AF0AJ@mastodon.radio "History" is definitely relative! It means something very different in California and in England. :)
@croyle@wandering.shop I so want to go visit a good friend of mine in the English midlands. Take my radio stuff, a large format film camera... Do lots of radio and take lots of pictures. But I'm afraid I'll never want to come back.
Maybe I'd get lucky and they wouldn't let me back in? π€
@AF0AJ@mastodon.radio I've always been concerned that if I visited there I'd never leave. I've always been very partial to the place myself, despite it having its own issues. Maybe it's the large amount of Irish and English in my genetics. Although if I ever flee the country it's definitely a place I'd consider. I watch a lot of Brit TV shows anyway... π
@croyle@wandering.shop Iβm a massive Anglophile as well. The humor, television, music, culture, etc. all appeal to me. Sure, theyβve got lots of issues too. But if push comes to shove, it would be first on my list. Or Canada, but not sure thatβs far enough away at this point. π€£
